Great point about MLF getting off the run to quickly, I also think there isn’t enough variety in what the Jets do in the run game and they could also add more orbit motion to that IMO

Very good point, there does seem to be a lack of creativity in both the run and pass game this year, certainly less than we saw last year. Orbit motion is a standard concept in the modern NFL now. I wonder if MLF has a real lack of confidence in the offensive line.

Might be since players like Tomlinson have been such a miss. He looks horrible when asked to pull and seemed to have lost his anchor in pass pro. Do you think he is trying to compensate for the line’s weaknesses?

Yeah Tomlinson has been a bit of a mess, his inability to find a target when pulling is absolutely shocking from a player of his standard. Schemes should be similar and terminology/concepts too, I really don't know why he's struggling so much, especially as he's between two veterans in Duane Brown and CMG.

I just read a piece from Michael Nania suggesting we bench Tomlinson, insert Herbie in his spot at LG and play LDT at RG. Apparently LDT has never taken even one snap at LG while Herbie has played the position for a good amount of his NFL snaps. Interesting idea. I wonder if that’s been considered by the Jets staff?

It's an interesting thought, but after spending the kind of money they spent and LDT being a decent but not spectacular replacement level guy, I just can't see them making that change at this point of the season.

Oh, I don’t see it happening either. But it’s an interesting thought…🤔

Im going back in with one foot - after that total no show against the Jags hard to get up for this team. They had everything on the line for them and decided not to play - wilson or no wilson. Its going to be 1/1 and the Jets sure are in it - just win a game for crying out loud !

Jags game was certainly disappointing, not just the loss but the level of performance. Need to see some intensity from the first snap, looking for the defense to set the tone and the running game to put down a marker. It's going to be a close one, can see it being decided by one score.

All Mike White has to do is put 24 points on the board. HOPE, the three extra days of rest will help the banged up OT’s and RB’s, help create a viable running game.

Malik Taylor , a replacement for Corey Davis and his 11 million CAP hit in 2023, or moving on from Denzel ?

Can anyone tell me how Tariq Woolen lasted until the Fifth Round ? 6’4, 209 lbs and runs a 4.26 looked good in combine drills.

Speaking of CB’s, with Echols out again, will Bryce Hall get Defensive reps ? What’s up with Bryce ? Joyner banged up , can Bryce play Safety, could be ideal ?

Geno is a great example of the importance of Patience with QB’s, hope he has a down day Sunday, but would like to see him get paid, perseverance & believing in yourself when no one else does

Maybe we pay Gino! It will be interesting to see how much Pete really loves him? The Bryce Hall to safety has been often discussed in my group. He’s a tall rangy guy. I wonder if the tackling thing is why the Jets haven’t considered it. I recall RS not being impressed with his tackling last year. Also the lack of interceptions?

Gino has come back to earth the past few weeks, looking bad with pressure

Concerned that Lockett is back for Geno, could make a difference

Bryce is deep in someone’s doghouse, not sure why. Good matchup on big WR’s and TE’s, you would think they could develop a role, strange

What are the odds that the Streveler package has a role in this game ?

I think with Seattle's struggle against the run, the package will almost certainly have a role. I just hope it's used at the right times, I really hate it when teams introduce something like that when the QB is rolling. If White is firing and moving the chains and the run game is working, keep it on the sideline.

I think the run game returns with the return if MFW. The lack of a credible passing game with Wilson made it easy to stack the box and stop the run.

Absolutely right Ron. Teams dared Zach to beat them with his arm knowing he couldn't. If MFW starts completing passes to his hot reads or to receivers occupying the vacant spots of backers cheating up, we may see them on their heels a bit, that's all Bam needs.

Great point

Nailed it. But Streveler maybe a threat to Seattle

Love Strev, but can he throw the ball? CJ Uzomah was wide open. Looked like he threw as far as he could but barely reached him. If he hit him in stride, that might have been a TD.

Defenses will stack the box against Streveler, even more than against ZW

I feel a lot better with MW at QB than #2 heading into the game. Fingers crossed.

Absolutely. MW is the key to unlock both the pass and the run. Got a feeling one of the backs and or the TEs will have a big game. It's that red zone offense that worries me.

Nice preview. Looking forward to starting 2023 with a win!

Why don't we use 2 TE sets? Did we overestimate these signings, given the missed blocks?

I assume it's because we have 3 good WR, but we still don't use the TE grouping when Davis was injured

agree - going to be a 'gut wrenher' win or lose all the way through win or lose - cause of teh stakes
