I believe Saleh made those comments to deflect criticism on the players to himself and to create an us against them mentality. I have no issues with the head coach manipulating the media and putting a bullseye on himself. He doesn't give a crap what the media thinks of him and that's a great sign. The media are such suckers. It doesn't mean there not game planning hard or coaching hard. Like Yogi said half the game is 90% mental. Whatever he needs to do, do.

Especially agree with you re rookie productivity in first game AND the potential for the OL. Saleh and the assistant coaches need to get a mostly mistake-free game, which will be hard to do with amateur collegians who are being converted into professionals

Its hard for me to get into these stats especially the "run blocking". As the 'chunk' plays were through the air they didnt have to run - espeically on short fields to start. For me jury is still out if they can stop the run. Agree - Gardner was the best player for the Jets all of them. My heart says that Salah is a good guy and sticking up for the NY Jets. However, saying that to a fan base that is pissed off after that performance is wrong. The so called NY Press is not that tough on him and i wish they were. I think the comments though were for th eoutlets like ESPN, NFL GMFB shows - (Peyton Manning made fun of the Jets). My head says that Saleh - especially after last week's performance - is a bad coach. The only team in the NFL to get blown out - The second blowout of the season is coming this Sunday - take a reciept of me Saleh -
