Once again, on the money! I have a close friend I coached high school football with. He has been a GM for two NFL teams so I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to hang out up close to the players on those teams. Locker room access. I have seen first hand what a problem child like ZW can cause. The thing that I’m most surprised to see was how poorly he acted towards the media post game. But not only last weeks post game. It happened after the first NE game as well. I think we all know the media can be brutal. Especially the NY area media. But he looked about as comfortable in front of them as he would a fireing squad! On both occasions he openly treated them with obvious disdain. Obnoxious behavior for a player that has had( I would hope) extensive media training. I know for a fact that all teams have a media relations departments. When a player joins a team he meets with them and the rules are clearly laid out. During post game pressers anyone who speaks at the podium is escorted to the mike by a media relations person who closely monitors the briefing. I would have thought he would have been spoken to after the first NE negative presser? So for him to repeat it the second time was shocking for me.

Thanks again for another "on-point" article DW-H! Sharing some thoughts on a Black Friday with a full belly from yesterday:

- If you're an arrogant QB you better play lights out and win otherwise you lose your team mates.

- If you're a well liked QB and you only play at a backup level ( you stink ) you lose your team mates confidence but they still like you.

- I agree that Coach Saleh made the right move by benching ZW. This is more than a reset in mechanics. He needs to learn humility and become a pro. Remember he is only 23.

- 3 or 4 more wins and we're in the playoffs. Not many people had the NYJ winning 6 games this year.

- We have to play the Bills again in an away game. They had MW's number last year and I am concerned.

- A win on Sunday puts us back in a playoff spot since the Pats lost.

Go Jets!

Find CB Lamar Jackson’s remarks revealing and insightful. Zach is an arrogant bastard, can rub guys the wrong way, has been underestimated. The discontent in the WR group could be directly related to this arrogance. Curious to see if the team rallies around Mike White, nuances of the Saleh’s decision making are becoming clear. LaFluer does abandon the running game too soon, but the short passing game is an extension of the run game, will MW be able to execute that short passing game directly supporting the run game. Will Mike White be the next Chad Pennington ? I see similarities.

Justin Fields playing with a separated shoulder ? Seriously ? Against the Jet Pass Rush, please, is that Franchise management negligence ? Backup is Trevor Siemens, former Jet, remember him ?

David, I lied. I had apple pie after my turkey. Seriously though, I find Jackson’s quotes, very interesting considering he has been on the Bears all season. I think it was Cimini that wrote that Zach ruffled a lot of feathers in the locker room last year. You take Zach’s arrogance and throw in what happened in the locker room last week, you have to assume that the locker room was ready to explode.

I think Saleh knows how to treat people and how to handle people so he probably was able to keep problems to a scarce minimum, imagine if Gase was the coach.

Last Monday, Saleh was almost two hours late for his Monday presser. You have to assume two things. In that meeting was Saleh, JD and Woody and the discussion was about the aftermath of Zach’s post game comment/comments. Plus, I’m sure Woody brought up his on field performance.

Knowing how Woody relies heavily on social media and he hates negative press, it wouldn’t surprise me if Zach’s contract is his only saving grace.

Two other points on this disaster. Zach was asked the same question after the first Pat loss, gave the same answer. Not one reporter ran with it.

Lastly, Zach’s father texted him as he was leaving Foxboro.

As per NY Post

Zach Wilson said what he said in that fateful postgame press conference following the Jets’ loss to the Patriots Sunday and he was about to board the team bus when his father texted him.

“Bro, what are you doing?’’ Mike Wilson asked his son.

“I didn’t realize what I said,’’ the 23-year-old second-year quarterback said Wednesday after being demoted to third-string in favor of Mike White. “I let my emotions get the best of me and it took ’til a little bit after when we were getting ready to leave and my pops gave me a call. It was before I even stepped on the bus. He shot me a text and said, ‘What did you say?’

“I was like, ‘I’m not sure.’ He sent [the TV clip] to me and instantly right there I knew I let my emotions get the best of me.’’

I thought when he said NO, he was as calm as can be.

I Had gotten off of Wilson since the infamous comments. However, seeing the new presser where he was sincere and hibled i am back in his corner. Still don't know if he will make it in the NFL but i still glad we drafted him then Fields. Lets go Mike White - will be sitting in rain all game so need to win. Need to go against "the Coin" for the first time this year

Great stats in here! It's too bad ZW needed a reset, bec the Bears are a perfect get right opponent.

Favorites -

"Chicago has one of the worst run defenses in the NFL. Over the course of this season they have allowed on average 142.6 yards per game, which is 29th in the league, and when on the road that number jumps to 166.8 yards, which is 31st in the league"

If we can get the running game going, that helps our QB so much!

"Bears only have 15 sacks all season, which is ranked 31/32 in the league and they traded away two of their best defensive players earlier this season. Their pressure percentage of 20.2% ranks in the bottom third of the league"

This is ideal for a young QB

Plus Brisker and Gordon banged up!

" all the full-time QBs this year, nobody holds the ball longer than the 3.44 seconds that Justin Fields does. Some of that is his ability to escape and move around behind the line, some of it is indecision."

Feast!
