This just in

Aaron Rodgers on @PardonMyTake about all the noise about him skipping #Jets minicamp for a trip to Egypt:

“The thing that people don’t understand was that when I was in the NFC North years ago there used to be a real thing called minicamp where it was … it was five practices in three days. Now it’s not minicamp. They can arbitrarily put a tag on whatever week of OTAs they want and say this is the minicamp week which makes it more mandatory than the other weeks. But it was an OTA schedule. That’s how words can be a little deceiving from time to time. It can make a story about how I missed a minicamp when it was really two OTA days. I came to the first 10.”

Great point. Mandatory Minicamp is just an OTA practice with a fancy name.

Well I think the Jets did a better job fortifying the o-line this offseason so now it’s on line coach Carter and company to make it work. Mitchell’s best shot at sticking is his ability to to fill in at OT and or at Guard.

Wednesday the BS stops and the Jets hopefully start their journey ending with a Super Bowl victory.

By Wednesday, no more maybe stories made up in writers and bloggers heads like the Adams or Aiyuk coming to the Jets.

While we were waiting for camp to start, draft picks and UDFAs have started practice already on Friday.

Since reporters aren’t allowed, it makes fans wonder who has opened the coaching staff eyes and who has coaches shaking their heads saying why did we draft/ sign this guy.

Today should be JJ Day, hopefully his remarks will end how Rodgers going to Egypt to ride camels will quell all of the mandatory camp histrionics from every writer and half the fan base.

A documentary was released on YouTube yesterday by the Jets on JJ.

Also if there is one player on the Jets who the team wants to take a second year JJ explosion it’s Will McDonald.

We will find out Wednesday if Reddick wearing Jet gear really meant anything or he just grabbed the first thing he saw in his house on his way out the door to get to that football camp that he was hosting.

Lastly, for all members of the Torch and Pitchfork Brigade, there was a social note on X ( formerly Twitter) on Saturday.

Our leader and without a question of a doubt, the best Jet writer out there David Wyatt- Hupton and his wife celebrated their fifth year of marital bliss.

Rumor has it that the Mrs. Told him, “ David the vacation is over, time to bring home the bacon. The baby needs milk, it’s time for 5 postings a week, get to work.

Congratulations to David and his wife.

Not sure who's more excited for the new football season to start. Me or my wife, just to get me out of her hair.

Agree….mine wants me to take the kids and play football as opposed to watching it. Regrettably age and Achilles have gotten the better of me!

Your wife sounds like a typical American football fan wife. We gladly welcome her.

I’m sure that the Jets would like another team to take Lazard off their hands and open up 10 million in cap space! The question is what would the receiving team get for their 10 million? Lazard certainly hasn’t demonstrated himself to be proficient at catching the football of late!

You have to imagine that any move would require the Jets to eat some of that salary and with the questions over how ready Mike Williams will be, I'm not sure they're going to want to do that.

With regard to Lazard, ultimately, will playing with AR improve his game? I’m not sure any QB has a cure for the dropsies!
