1. Banging the Drum for the revamped Athletic Care and Performance Dept. Jets are better conditioned and dominant in the fourth Quarter. Less soft tissue and dreaded hamstring injuries, they are doing something right.
2. Love the Two Running Back Set. Hall positioned all over the formation. After achieving success with the outside toss, trap play counter for a 30 yard TD run for Hall..
3. Berrios, contributes as a kick returner, punt returner, running game, & the passing game. Just a change of pace.
4. Like Uzomah’s blocking all day, great actor on a TE screen, more Uzomah TE screens please.Conklin nice 16 yard reception. Yeboah contributes on ST.
5. Like the innovation in Offense. Wildcat with two good RB’s. Conklin with the QB sneak., please.
6. The Williams brothers. Quentin breakout year, monster. Quincy massive hits
7. Jets dominate ST battle, two good ST team units. Deep defensive line, contributes. Michael Cleamons kick blocker extraordinaire.
8. Not a great day for Zach, but no turnovers, throws the ball away
9, Vinny Curry is back, made a couple of plays.
10. Grit, becoming a huge Duane Brown fan , playing through injury. Of course there is AVT , CLEAN GAME at RT. Herbig allows AVT to go to RT, competent.
The most pleasing thing for me, even more than the great performances from all the players is the visible improvement in coaching/play-calling from the start of the season. Even to my untrained eye there were some poor play-calling and personnel decisions in the first couple of weeks, but every formation and play call seems to be working on offense now (rushing plays anyway).
Echo JetOrange’s point on ZW, there is so much more to come but most bad qb performances mean turnovers and the rest of the team having to bail them out. If this is his poor then I’ll take that. I don’t see the point of slagging him off for playing poorly, like there are from the hot-take merchants online. Are they suggesting he should be benched? Absurd.
I am still concerned about the Patriots game, but being 4-2 after six is beyond my wildest expectations.
Couldn’t be more proud of this team right now and so much more to come… Sheesh, I cant wait for Broncos, Pats and Bills and I wasn’t thinking THAT when the schedule came out…we’re in for a ride this year buddy. So Sexy!
David, once again, thank you for this excellent analysis of Sundays win. Spot on. My favorite play of the game was the Braxton Berrios reverse after the Cory Davis deep reception. Brax did an outstanding job patiently setting up the blocks and as you mentioned Duane Brown destroyed a defender well down field that allowed Brax to easily score.
I'll be the first to admit I WAS WRONG about this team. Those of you who have read my comments know i thought this was a bad team just a few weeks ago. I also said Douglas was getting too much credit for "doing nothing". With that said Im not about to declare victory on everthing the team is doing. However - give credit where credit due - after 53 years of waiting they look ready for take-off ! Enjoy your day David.
