2-2 Baby YeeeeeHaaaaa! With Duane Brown possibly coming back for Miami can we dare to dream? If we can scrap out some wins like this while we heal and grow it could be pretty cool. I wasn’t that impressed with Green Bay and Denver either… Hahaha now I’m really getting ahead of myself! JET UP
Had we have said that after 4 weeks we'd be 2-2 and three of those games would be with our backup QB and all of them would involve a different starting offensive line, I think we'd have taken that and run with it. I hope Brown is back, I hope Mitchell is OK but there is no reason we should be scared of the Dolphins. Sauce v Hill is going to be something special, Hill's speed could cause us a fair few issues.
I'm in a suite this week for the Dolphins and going to Green Bay next weekend. I am hoping for exciting , competitive games! Both teams appear to be better than us at this point. With Tua out we might get a win here and who knows? The O-line is patched up. Maybe Connor McDermitt catches another TD.......lol ZW is much better than the Old man standing there like the Statue of Liberty.
ESPN has glowing pass blocking ratings for us but it looked like the play broke down quickly.
ZW was constantly flushed out of the pocket, coming into the 4th quarter. Or did he leave prematurely? Were receivers getting open?
For runs they were in the backfield constantly. Credit to MLF for mixing it up, kicking outside runs, play action fakes, etc. But that leads me to the iOL had trouble. (announcers left us wondering)
I didn't hear the announcers mention AVT playing LT even once. To me it was a huge storyline, since a key to the Steelers defense has always been pass rush. It not even sure they discussed McDermott the Jets 6th string OT playing RT.
Looking forward to tomorrow’s stats. After rewatching the game a 2nd time Connor McDermott is simply not very good at football. He was a human turnstile once again. Unfortunately, prior to his injury Max Mitchell was just as bad. Hopefully this is not a season ending injury for Mitchell. Yesterday aside he showed really good potential. Not sure where we are going with all these o-line moves but I would leave AVT at LT and Herbig at RG and assuming Mitchell is out I would play Fant at RT if or when he is able to return.
Yeah I'm looking forward to diving into the numbers tonight. I did see someone say that McDermott didn't allow a single pressure, but that's not how I remember it so it'll be interesting to see what PFF say. Got a lot of stats to get to, always the longest post to write as well.
Very frustrating for the Mets this weekend, but hopefully they catch fire when it really matters in the post-season. The thought of the Jets being 3-2 this time next week is very encouraging.
Also the Rangers start soon, as do the Knicks, so I'm very excited.
It’s the first time this season that I don’t the coaches called a bad game, barring the repeated delayed handoffs from shotgun that were blown up. There may have been one or two times that #2 could have held onto the ball on option reads and taken it himself, but I guess we’d rather not tempt needless injuries for the sake of a few yards. Overall, I thought he did exactly what he needed to do at the times when failure wasn’t an option, and for me that’s the single main thing we needed to see. He looked decisive, threw a few strikes (some too hard!]) and evaded pressure well. There is zero percent chance we could have won that game with Flacco under centre.
With the pass rush starting to work, the non-Garrett Wilson receivers getting theirs and Hall making yards on the ground, things are looking up!
Absolutely. I think I need to give some credit to Ulbrich after the heat he took this week, he did a really nice job, trusted his line to get home, mixed up some coverages, and excellent job by the defense to flow to the football.
There are plenty of things to be excited about for sure.
It was a nail-biter but a gutsy win…if we can find some stability on the OLine and see more of 4th quarter Zach then things are looking up…everything crossed for Max Mitchell…
Absolutely. It's going to be interesting to see where we go from here, I'm sure Duane Brown will come back and slot at left tackle and AVT will slot back in at RG, but is there a world where AVT stays at left tackle? That's going to be a very interesting note.
Best time of year espcially when we have some good teams now

Sauce Reed and MC2 vs Tyreek and Waddle et al. That'll be interesting! I'd think we'll have trouble with their TE in the slot

So strange
Great recap. Great game!

You figure the Mets were going to win and the Jets not - just the opposite - cant shake the mets sweep off to enjoy the jets victory
