Hill would have been a perfect fit, Jets did the necessary, competed, but lost out, unfortunately to the Dolphins. But Hill became available because of the constraints of the CAP, teams just can’t pay everyone, even with the all of the recent restructurings, teams are forced to part with good/great players. Did the Chiefs paying Mahomes force the exit of Hill ? Maybe. Will another good/great player shake loose ? Pretty sure.
How great is it to have an an early third round pick, two fourths, and two fifth round picks. The Jets need at WR is so dire that it needs to be addressed with a premium pick. But because of the overall lack of depth , the Jets are drafting a second WR. Jets don’t need to draft a TE early, Robinson is perfect at 69, explosive WR, adds to the run Game & the return game.. Ezkanama is absolutely intriguing, could reach unicorn status, scouting is everything
Really good thoughts, and you're absolutely right. I think as we see salaries increase at a faster rate than the cap, more and more players who may once have been deemed untradable by their teams will become available. You have to pick and choose now and part of the reason the Seahawks may be willing to move on from Lockett is to free up cap at the WR position to re-sign DK, that would make sense.
I think it's about time we saw a first round receiver on the books, over two decades without one is strange, and although there are no Chase's in here (at least by the looks of it but who are we to know for sure), there are plenty of options. I was watching OSU's pro day yesterday and Garrett Wilson is just a guy I find it hard not to buy into, great hands.
Waiting to see how Drake London runs, needs to a 4.5 or better. Burke’s had a poor RAS score ( more than just the 4.55 forty ) . All of these top WR’s have warts, very difficult to justify any of them at 10, driving motivation for a trade down scenario. Seems that 36 or 38 would be more prudent. Jet fans won’t be happy, but a top WR may fall, intrigued by NDS Watson. Douglas has nerves of Steel, patience is tough
