That’s fine. I get that. But we finally have a good guy covering our Jets so for me calling him lazy is not good. He puts a a lot of thought and work in his posts.

Canty, O'Hara, Diehl and both Simms are afraid of criticizing the Giants and making Mara mad. Why is it that all the ex Jets who are part of the national media play it down the middle in criticizing their old team but ex Giants won't. In the last 5 years the Giants have the worst record, the worst GM and three head coaches but not until it became painfully obvious that it was over for them did they say anything negative about the HC's. And they all still believe, or say, that Jones can be a top QB and it was the front offices fault. Chris Simms wasn't even a Giant but he's apologetic talking Giants with Florio. Its pathetic. O'Hara is the worst because he's on the NFL Network daily. Lies through his teeth. And I won't even discuss the Giants post game show on MSG with Howard Cross. Its like a high school broadcasts. Sometimes after a loss there close to tears.

Another excellent article! I think a guy to keep an eye on is Elijah Riley! He looked very comfortable as a FS when he got the opportunity. David and Pinnock as reserves. Joyner doesn’t make this roster. 2017 is a long time ago.

Good article overall, Not sure though why everyone gets caught up in this Antonio Cromartie comp. The only thing he has in common with Cro is height and long speed. Sauce has superior stop/start ability and much better acceleration. He is a far different player from Cro. The comp is actually pretty lazy and something you should not do on TJW.

My comparison with Sauce and Cromartie is based on a few things. Obviously the height, reach and speed are comparable and pretty damn close, but their actual style of play in terms of their backpedal and hands on approach in man coverage are very similar as well. Cromartie was exceptional at using the boundary as a help defender and Sauce does exactly the same, and they also have similar issues in relation to mirroring quick receivers off the line. I think Sauce will be a better player than Cro and let's not forget Antonio was a 4x Pro Bowler, so it's not an insult to be compared to him. Sauce does have better acceleration but no two players who are compared are ever going to be exactly the same and I personally don't think the comparison is lazy.

It is lazy imo, because Sauce does not have the issues you describe when mirroring off the line I watched most Cincy games over the last year and watched the entire Blewett review to reinforce. Every CB will get beat off the line at times but Sauce was fine in mirroring quick WR's in 2021. He even made note of this as something he worked on after facing Austin and a few a other quick WR earlier in his career. Please watch 2021 and see the improvement he made. In addition, the physical traits are actually not the same as Cro. It is a poor take at best because it shows an overreliance on Fr and Soph tape vs the clear progress he showed in 2021 to perfect his craft. But more importantly the physical ability that Cro did not have is simply too obvious to ignore. Cro was not good at changing direction or re-accelerating, Sauce is above average even at 6'3" at changing directions and re-accelerating. Lazy may be strong but poor is fair because Sauce already worked on this perceived weakness you allude to and showed it all over the 2021 tape.

Lazy? The amount of time and effort that went into this article was anything but lazy. I’m fine with disagreeing but I think you could have left the “lazy” out of it!

Lazy was because it is a size, speed comp. Not really a style comp. Cro could really only match up with taller WR's or fast WR's. Sauce is more versatile and a better overall athlete. I could have used poor comp and maybe that would be a happy medium.
