I’m with you on almost everything you said her. The decisions at the safety positions were mind numbing. Even keeping Joyner was a disappointment for me. He hasn’t been able to stay healthy for the last three seasons. And his play hasn’t been good either. Talk about arriving late. Bryce Hall started the Atlanta getting torched twice. The pass to Pitts was not all on him. Joyner was supposed to have the deep third to that side but bit on a shorter route and couldn’t get back to help on that play. Then two plays later he was again out of position on the skinny post again against Hall that went for the TD. Davis is a total waste as well. The decisions on Curry and Rankins were also strange. To be kind! This is still a roster in the developing stage. So why keep to older unproductive vets over two younger players that both had encouraging preseasons? I can buy the veteran leadership angle because this team is loaded with really good veteran leaders. Whithead and Reed in the secondary. Mosley and Alexander at the LB positions. Lawson and JFM on the DL. Tomlinson, Fant and McGovern on the o-line. Davis at the WR spot. Uzomah and Conklin at TE and of course Flacco and even White at QB.

Well said Ron, I agree DWH nailed it, great analysis.

I too am most upset by the DT and Safety choices. Also would have kept Jax Jr over Smith.

I'm shocked that Ashtyn Davis and Ty Johnson made the initial squad.

Me too. I don't get the Davis one, he's never looked that good to me and has made very little improvement. Then you have Pinnock who's made instant improvement and Parks who has looked very good.

I like Knight a lot but as a 3rd RB they need to pass protect and catch out of the backfield. That's especially true if we keep Ty, a liability in these areas. How is knight on these areas?

He did improve his pass protection in 2021 lifting his PFF grade into the 60s after sitting in the 30s in his first year at college.

4 solid vet safeties were cut. All would be upgrades for us. Are they good scheme fits?

Logan Ryan, Tony Jefferson, Tartt, Anthony Harris

Harris is probably my favourite of the bunch there but Tartt has experience within the system.

Scratching head on Davis as well.. Would have kept Parks over Davis. Ty Johnson has not been that reliable, not sure what they see in him.. I think Douglas still has some tricks up his sleeve in the coming days. we will see.

For those who havent seen, seven (7) of our cuts were picked up off waivers; by far the most in the league (21% of all waiver moves!).

Why does the Jets official website only show 47 active players? Hardee, Reed, Rankins, Alexander, Whitehead & Adams are missing… Any reason for that or just slack admin?

I'm not 100% sure on that one to be perfectly honest.
