Okay with the Free Safety Plan, overly optimistic on Pinnock. Due to the unusual depth at CB, expect another CB to experiment at Safety, possibly Bryce Hall. Speaking of Leo Chenal, it’s very curious on how the Jets are treating the Linebacker position. I love the Ruckert pick in the third round, but Linebackers Leo Chenal or Channing Tindall, were Right there at 101. See Linebacker as a huge need, the Jets don’t. Kindly note, the Jets are also continuing with this Safety to Linebacker conversion policy, it seems permanent.
I think if Joyner can stay healthy the safety duo will work quite well especially considering the improvement outside at cornerback. The linebacker position is an interesting one as the team really do seem high on the combination of CJ and Quincy with Sherwood coming back into the fold and Nasrildeen apparently spending the off-season bulking up. I do have some hope for UDFA DQ Thomas, he's light for a linebacker but he has a ton of talent.
DQ Thomas was ultra productive, got some guaranteed money, a little undersized, but a good coverage Linebacker, an upgrade over Cashmen , right now. Looks like a year away, stash on the Practice Squad. NFL strength and Conditioning program will be perfect for DQ, slap on an additional 10 pounds on. For an off the ball linebacker, had an unusual amount of sacks, diamond in the rough
Great information, some news you don't get anywhere else. So many guys invited to camp but, even last year, with a pretty lousy roster, only a few made it to the 53 roster - Yeboah, Zuniga, and Dunn and none of them made any kind of impact. I'm hoping DQ Thomas and Savion Williams impress b/c Linebacker and run stuffing Tackle are two are of need whether management acknowledges that or not.
