Yet another great move by The Moug. The money isn't outrageous, but not miserly either. He has a very good chance as an elite RG given his performance to date, especially in pass pro, and his run blocking is more than adequate. The other good thing is that when the Jets sign or draft an actual starting center, they have an in-house backup with sterling qualities in the pivot. That's about as good a win-win that you are going to find.
Excellent news about Tippman re-signing! Regardless of where he plays along the offensive line, he is an above average starter (at the absolute worst). Consistency and continuity are going to be important (and always are on the offensive line). Hopefully a full year of working together will make the Myers-Tippman-Membou combo extremely effective. The left side will have a bit more learning curve depending on how long Parham takes to get up to speed, but the right side should hit the ground running. Spending an entire season and off-season with your linemates is a force multiplier. These guys will come into the season knowing each other like the back of their hand.
Second year with Offensive Line Coach , Steve Heiden. Lost AVT & John Simpson to free Agency, but all the reserves returned, seems like the group is focused, happy and ready to go. Mougey’s policy of taking care of the teams good players promotes unity and a positive attitude throughout the team.
Mougey has been a revelation !!!!!! Could be the best GM since Weeb and Parcells, lol. He's very intuitive and doesn't seem to be wishy-washy at all. Working for George Paton seems to have helped Mougey a lot.
I don't think teaching is the issue. The issue is the McDonald is too light in the pants to hold up at the point of attack. I know they say every year he's putting on weight, yadda-yadda-yadda, but when the end of pre-season rolls around, he still looks like a big safety. He just has a problem keeping weight on because of his frame I'm guessing. The big worry is that right now you can't have Bailey and McDonald on the field at the same time, plain and simple. And for Dunbar to gloss over the edge-setting question about Bailey is a red flag for me. I'm not from Missouri, but he's going to have to "show me" he can hold the edge when necessary and curb his engrained "freelancing". It's not a good look when your top 2 pass-rushers could turn out to be only situationally impactful.

I know you probably did not mean it literally but I was surprised to find out the Jets did not receive a ticker tape parade down the Canyon of Heroes after their super bowl win. Of course the tradition of doing it for local teams did not begin until after the Mets won the series later that year. Hopefully that changes and changes sooner rather than later and we will get to enjoy one for us!.
