Good morning! ☕
Today the Jets head to Carolina, but before they left on a midnight train (probably a chartered flight but it doesn’t sound as poetic), they participated in one more practice.
If you missed yesterday’s newsletter, I briefly outlined the strengths of the Panthers to give you an idea of which units were going to be tested, you can read that here.
We’re back into camp mode today, so we’re starting with the notes from practice.
CAMP NOTES ✍️
🔄 The Jets officially made some roster moves. OT Yodny Cajuste was waived with an injury designation, anyone who’s ever researched Yodny will know that an injury is probably the least surprising outcome. They signed OT Grant Hermanns off waivers from the Bucs. Hermanns joined the Jets in 2021 as a UDFA out of Purdue.
The Jets also signed DE Pita Taumoepenu and DT Bruce Hector. Additionally, they confirmed the release of DT Isaiah Mack. Pita is an interesting name as he was just named Defensive Player of the Year for the XFL with 7.5 sacks and he spent three years with Robert Saleh in San Francisco.
A couple of interceptions to report on Aaron Rodgers. The first was thrown into traffic and Jimmy Moreland took it back. The second was a tipped ball (JFM) that was picked by rookie Zaire Barnes.
