Yesterday Ulbrich gave an answer to a question that showed how totally lost he is as the “ interim HC “

When asked about Rodgers performance, he answered “ I’ll have to review the tape” but continued I was too busy making defensive changes.

That says it all, another Woody Johnson DC turned HC Rex wanna be.

Hey Brick you destroyed any chance to be a HC again when you decided to still call defensive signals, you were promoted to HC. Your responsibilities include the whole team, you can’t get fired fast enough.

Your offensive decisions during two minute crunch time were abysmal at best compatible to Warner League football coaches.

You haven’t a fucking clue how your quarterback is performing, Parcells and Belichick must have doubled over laughing after that statement

Ulbrich is an unmitigated disaster, next job will be as a LB Coach. His failure, probably helps Saleh, who did the smart thing and got out of town. Getting away from a dysfunctional organization and working on Offense with a playoff team, helps him improve as a coach! And does wonders for his resume. Saleh will get another opportunity as a HC

Who is Saleh coaching with now? I hadn't heard any news about him.

Defensive Coaches have that ultra conservative mindset. But Saleh wants to get better, he could become more Offensive minded in this Offensive League. He knows he has a weakness on the Offensive side of the ball, and he is addressing it. He may now be able to talk the talk, walking the walk is a completely other thing. Saleh also benefits from the Ulbrich collapse, and the reports of the Jets organizational dysfunction

After Woody fired Robert, he took two weeks off , and then went to work for Matt La LaFluer HC in Green Bay on the Offensive Side of the Ball, after working for two weeks in GB, they put him on some sort of salary.

Saleh could become a better overall coach by working with the GB Offense, it could also enhance his resume. Smart move IMO

I totally agree. For his sake, I hope that he learns not to be such a coward offensively and quits trying to win with D.

David, as you said, this is totally disgraceful. Unlike most New Yorkers, I root for both the Jets and Giants, with the Jets my primary team. the dream a couple of weeks back was to have the two teams pick #1 and #2 in the draft. Quite unfortunate that this is what I am thinking about. With that being said, I was shocked to see the Giants put up 45 points and win, thereby taking them out of the #1 position. While I wasn't happy about seeing that, at least it showed that they didn't quit. Is there any possibility that if the teams with equal to worse records than the Jets and Giants win next week and the Jets and Giants lose that the Jets and Giants can pick 1 and 2. So sad that this is where my mind is focused. With that being said, the 2 teams will probably screw it up regardless. And quite tragic for all of us being NY sports football fans

Maybe somebody can hire a plan and go over the stadium with this "Woody you are a coward". .

An open letter to Woody Johnson.

Woody, may I call you Woody

You are unquestionably the worst owner of any professional sports franchise in North America.

This will not be an emotional, irrational rant but it will be a statement of your idiotic, interfering incompetence.

Yes, as the owner it is your absolute right to make any changes that you want. But the fact remains because you own a football team doesn’t mean that you know anything about football.

If you went out and bought a surgical center, doesn’t mean you could perform ACL or Rotator Cuff surgery does it.

Unlike Jerrah Jones, Dallas Cowboy owner, who as owner/GM

meets with the press weekly and does a radio show to defend his moves, you Woody are a first class coward. You make decisions, while your employees are having press conferences to announce your decisions, you go into seclusion like Rodgers with his cave.

Your firing of Saleh and the hiring of Ulbrich has probably been the worst move in Jet history, if not the worst than tied with the Kotite for Carroll fiasco. You single-handedly destroyed a season. But like you said that day, “ Thinking is overrated “

Robert Kraft unlike you wasn’t born with a silver spoon in his mouth but he did marry the daughter of a silver spoon holder.

He took over his father-in- law’s buisness, made a few strategic business moves and became a billionaire. Using that wealth to buy the Pats.

But unlike you Woody, he hired his HC and GM and then backed away from all personnel decisions. The only personnel decision he ever got embroiled in was he demanded BB to trade Garoppolo and keep Brady.

Kraft whether you like him or not understands what it takes to run a successful buisness, you unfortunately are totally clueless.

Below shows both the Jets and Pats division record since the last time the Jets made the playoffs.

Yes, having Brady was a big advantage, but then again having the right people making the personnel decisions does reward itself. Let’s not be naive here, your interference has brought in two ex Green Bay quarterbacks who were on their downside and a supposed quarterback ( Tebow ) who had no downside because he never had an upside.

When Brady left, the Pats tried the Jet way, let’s bring in a vet. That lasted one year, Cam Newton wasn’t the answer.

They tried by drafting Mac Jones, he wasn’t the answer. But instead of dwelling on him they decided to clean house completely, a very unJet like move. It appears a total house cleaning isn’t in your vision of what NFL teams should do. For some reason, Jet HCs must clean house but stay competitive. We saw how competitive they were in Buffalo yesterday.

Here we are, a week away from the end of another typical lost Jet season.

The Jets are basically in the same position they were in after the 2011 season, on the downside.

This organization under your excellent guidance has become a perennial dumpster fire.

A new GM and HC must be hired, since you are making the final decision there is automatically a negative. Your cap will be in disarray because of ridiculous contracts and dead money, Rodgers must be given the boot, his performance yesterday was disgraceful, your roster isn’t what everyone thought it was.

Your overall treatment of your base and your continuous way of squeezing more money out of your season ticket holders faster is an affront to your base. Pay for the 2025 season in October of your 2024 season.

Woody, by the way. The Pats without Kraft calling the personnel shots are on the way up, if not already past you.

They currently have the first pick in the draft, they have over 100 million in cap space coming and it appears they have their franchise quarterback.

This alone shows your totally incompetency as an owner.

God help all Jet fans.

I think you should somehow arrange to have this letter sent as if it was a subpoena. That way he will have to read it,.

As painful as it is, Blow it up, start over. Obviously, this GM & HC search is critical. Lots of blame to go around. It will be interesting to see who starts next week. In the preseason, I actually thought the Jets had a better roster than the Bills, and would contend, wrong. How could any team, have such consistent penalties over 16 games ? The failure of Ulbrich, underlines for me the importance of the HC position . Biggest disappointments, Hall and the TE’s on Offense ( they can’t block), the penalties, the complete collapse of the Defense, their inability to to stop the run, fear that Moseley’s leadership kept this defense together, and he will be gone. QB statistics can be deceiving, I would have signed up for Rodgers numbers, but Aaron is toxic, and Douglas along with Management made a huge mistake in continually catering to Rodgers. Time to turn the page and move on

Good morning. I am earlier than usual as after yesterday’s debacle as sleep did not come easy. Nothing comes easy being a Jets fan. In the interest of having a reason to follow my favorite sport my wife and I have become Lions fans. Unfortunately they hired the HC I wanted and the wife likes their uniforms.😂 Both teams were at their lowest points a little over 4 years ago and while we screwed up once again they made all the right moves. Our rooting choice will come under heavy pressure this week as the Sam Darnold led Vikings will slug it out with them for the #1 playoff seed. Darnold once again played outstanding making clutch throw after clutch throw. I think it’s time for the doubters to give it a rest. And I’m seeing more and more pundits acknowledging the likelihood of the Vikings doing everything they can to keep Sam. Jimmy Johnson said on the post game show that the Vikings would be making a mistake counting on a rookie to run this “win now roster” after seeing how well Sam has played.

Ron, I like that Lion organization but let’s be fair here. The Lions had something that the Jets didn’t, Matt Stafford.

In the Rams quest for Super Bowl glory, the Rams gave the Lions Goff and a bunch of premium picks for Stafford.

The Lions without the owners two cents interfering used those picks to draft Jameson Williams, Gibbs and LaPorta.

I know it’s comparing apples with oranges but could you imagine last years Jet team with Goff at quarterback, Gibbs and Hall in the backfield, Wilson and Williams at wr and LaPorta at te.

Again the Rams gift has served the lions well

Bobber, yeah that’s a good and fair point but it’s not about any one event being the key reason for their turn around. For me their success is based on their culture and chemistry. The players come and go but the chemistry remains in tact and as a result they continue to win. And that comes from great leadership. I don’t know that Dan Campbell is some kind of football genius but it’s obvious his players believe in him and thats a quality we haven’t seen here in a long time.

At the very least if they don't sign him to a long term contract they will franchise him.

Yeah that would give them an opportunity to see what they could get for JJ McCarthy in a trade. With a crappy QB draft class a team like the Giants with the number 3 pick might make sense.

I thought about that, however I don't think Minnesota will give up McCarthy even for that. Let's see.

Sam is only 27 , could get a five year deal

True but regardless I don't think they will give up McCarthy.

The Franchise Tag cost for Darnold is 39, 637,000. Vikings will have multiple offers, for MCCarthy. Darold has made a difference this year , and the players seem to love him.

I too am still waiting for those good times, Garrett.

David, you are pretty much preaching to the choir. Yesterday was a travesty. If anyone was thinking of running it back with Rodgers next season, I'm pretty sure they've done a complete turnaround after watching yesterday's horror show. There's no way in hell that AR and Adams should be back next season. Anything even remotely connecting to AR needs to be gone. The Jets trading for him is literally the worst decision made in the team's entire history. You can talk about Kotite and so on, but this is absolutely the worst season I have ever seen from this team, in pretty much all areas of the game. Nobody deserves a pass, just back up the truck and buy a couple of gross of black trash bags. Ulbrich has been a disaster, that's for sure. He'll be very lucky if he gets even a position coach job.

Rodgers has been the fiasco of all fiascos and has tainted the team in ways I've never seen before. You are also correct about planning for 2026, because next year is a throwaway year, that's as plain as can be. But the entire key is Wood Head. If he continues in his idiotic ways, there truly is no hope no matter who he hires. Just like many others, I turned the game off when it hit 26-0. And just to be sure there are no more traces, I completely wiped my DVR of any content at all, just in case there were any stray kilobytes of Jets crap hanging around.

You are also right about using Tyrod as a bridge in 2025, his cost is sunk, and even if he is made of cut glass, he can maneuver a bit and still throws a nice ball. I also think the Jets should grab a developmental QB in the draft, maybe Jaxson Dart or someone similar. They need to keep taking QB's until something goes the right way, though they never seem to pick one and support them properly. Right now, they have the 7th pick, so let's hope they don't wake up next Sunday and pull a job like the Giants did yesterday. That would just be the sour cherry on top, and Wood Head would run around like he won the SB.

And you are right he is a coward, plain and simple.

David - as always you’re spot on. The only way to go is up. I’m not sure we get there with Woody owning this team. I said it back when he pulled AR and his clan in….big mistake and one it now will take years to recover from. In watching our JETS for 55 years - this feels like the lowest point. I really don’t want to watch the games….its too painful especially when the effort by the players is mediocre at best. They should all donate 100% of their salaries - it’s been pitiful. Nonetheless - wishing you and your family a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Disgusting is all i can say. Was one of maybe 3 -5 time i turned the game off in my 70 plus years, right after the half. And i didnt care. As David says the all gotta go including the front office. For this years playoffs: one wekened im totally out of pocket. The rest i dont really care, lost interrest and jealous. If it was a Minn/Buff SB i would would watch and root for Sam. Two teams that have lost 4 Bowls and thier QBs from the same draft.

Run it back with Taylor, a cheap jag, and Travis or a developmental QB. Hope they go 0-17, Woody will finally have had enough and sell the team, and the new owner will have the #1 pick in the 2026 draft and can grab a stud QB prospect.

Spot on, as usual, David!

Best wishes to all for a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year to all!!! May it bring about a dramatic change in the Jets' fortunes, and in the actions of their owner!
