I would prefer JFM to move inside and free up snaps for Johnson and Huff. Are you sure all his sacks have come from the outside? I thought 1 was from the inside?
I think the statistics say that JJ is our best DE against the run?
It makes sense to give him more snaps, especially against the Pats. Also, his sack of Josh Allen showed off his open field speed, which would be very valuable against Stevenson out of the backfield.
I would move JFM inside some, use Shepherd and Smart some and use Huff exclusively at DE in obvious passing downs.
Not been so nervously excited for a game since.....well...since the last NE game! Go Jets
We drafted JJ in R1 and he's a good run defender. I assume the plan is to eventually have him as a starting edge, opposite Lawson, for most games (although maybe not vs NE)
Is JJ better against the run than Lawson? I assume so.
For the Pats game, I assume we want our best run defense alignment, so that's JJ mixed in with JFM as edge, with Lawson spelling them. I don't want to take their best pass rusher off the field, but we always do a rotation
The Waiver claim, is just the beginning of the courtship of Tillery who is a FA in 2023. JFM to the inside, JJ a strong run defender compliment a great pass rusher Huff on the inside. Better pressure inside and out. Tanzel Smart is deserving of a promotion.
