My son entered a mini-lottery for world cup tickets and was awarded three games early last fall. He is in the Boston area and recently went to the France game. Cost per ticket was printed price, not the exorbitant scalper prices - at that time you get a game slot without knowing the teams. FYI there is a publicized world wide lottery for the final cup game every tournament. My son was selected for the cup finals in South Africa some years ago! He and three friends immediately booked flights and secured housing. Then they discovered more tickets become available in less publicized mini lotteries. These are seats countries and corporations were allowed to buy in advance but are later turned back to FIFA, since their was a housing (hotel) shortage in South Africa many tickets became available. My sons group, all recent Dartmouth grads, figured out how to respond within seconds for each mini-lottery and were able to secure tickets for multiple matches from the beginning to the end of the tournament. The seats were great except for the finals (nose bleed area). He went to 8 matches and could have went to more but took off on a short safari instead. His team of passion was Spain (he attended a semester in Barcelona). This ticket strategy worked because South Africa tournament locations were relatively close to each other. This was not true for the Brazil tournament. For the US tournament, as a father of two young girls he only tried to get tickets for Boston matches. Hopefully this all was interesting to you.
Besides this, free agency begins the 30th for basketball and July 1 for hockey, so something else to follow if you are so inclined.

Arnold is held without bond and faces multiple felony counts, including four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery.
He is looking at a life sentence.
Ironically the idiot kidnapped the wrong people. The people he kidnapped had nothing to do with the robbery.
