If you ever saw the original “Magnificent Seven”, there is a scene where forty bandidos enter a small Mexican village led by a brutal leader named Calvera ( Eli Wallach). He is looking for three scouts he sent into the town who never returned. He is confronted by Seven Gunslingers. Who tell him that they have disposed of his three scouts. He tells the gunslingers leader Chris ( Yul Bryrnner)

I Should have known, I should have known.

On October 16th, 2022, I completed a bucket wish I went to Lambeau to see the Jets play the Pack.

The worse thing that happened that day was on the third play of the game, it appeared that Sauce intercepted Rodgers, returning it for a td, the play went to replay and the interception was over ruled.

From that moment on, the Jets dominated the pack for a 27-10 victory.

Hall had 116 yards rushing and a td, Berrios a 20 yard td run on a trick play, Q blocked a field goal,

Clemons blocked a punt that was returned for a td by Will Park, who, the D sacked Rodgers 4 times and the game ended with Sauce wearing a cheese head hat accidentally walked into the Pack’s tunnel only to be thrown out by Lazard of all people. The Jets were 4-2.

The next day, while waiting for my flight out of Appleton, Wisconsin, I looked out at the runway.

I said something to myself that was very hard to get out. I was almost giddy.

I said to myself, I can’t believe what happened yesterday. I think they have finally done it.

They finally have a GM who knows what he is doing. They have a HC who knows how to win. The roster is loaded with young talent. My god, they have finally after all these years turned the corner. Maybe no more same old Jets.

The following week they beat Denver in Denver, 16-9. Hall had a 62 yard td run. A few minutes later both him and AVT were lost for the year.

Since that game the Jets have gone 12-28.

After yesterday’s debacle in finding a new to lose. for some reason I thought about my thoughts two years ago when I told myself that the Jets organization had finally turned the corner.

I should have known, I should have known.

For me, the best line in The Magnificent Seven was when Calvera's men escort Yul Brynner & Co. out of the village and James Coburn says, "Nobody throws me my guns and tells me to leave !"

Gud article on John Simpson , one of the few bright spots on the team.https://jetsxfactor.com/2024/12/07/ny-jets-john-simpson-highlighting/

And sorry guys I am rooting for losses at this point. I am a believer in wanting them to be very gud and if not very bad. Mediocrity doesn't resonate with me :)

Hopefully yesterday’s game finally put to bed that the Jets have a Super Bowl caliber defense, it’s more like a toilet bowl caliber defense.

Tua back to pass 47 times not hit even once. Where was the Great Waldo#7

Before yesterday’s game

The Giants have only one interception this season, by linebacker Darius Muasau in Week 1 against the Vikings. Since then the team has gone 11 straight games without an interception, the longest drought by any team since 1933, when the league began recording statistics.

The team with the next fewest interceptions this season? The Jets, who have only two.

Giants finally got one yesterday to tie the Toilet Bowl defense.

We all can agree that Saleh was mediocre at best as a HC, but for some strange reason he was the glue that helped keep this D somewhat competitive.

Ulbrich decision to keep calling plays was actually the worst decision of his career. He is so overwhelmed. It will be a long time before HC and his name are used in the same sentence.

Right after Smith caught the td pass in overtime, the camera went to Ulbrich on the sidelines. For some strange reason he was putting his earphones on not off.

Only two reasons came to mine

1. He was calling his wife, to tell her he was coming home

2. He doesn’t understand overtime rules. If that’s the case, that explains a lot about his coaching.

The minute I saw that kickoff come up short, I knew it was going to be a big problem, lol. And as soon as I saw the Jets lose the coin toss, I shut it off. The only joy I got yesterday was seeing the Rams beat the Bills. That Puka Nacua is something else and having him and Kupp on the same team can be fun to watch. I don't root for losses, but them laying a beating on Jax doesn't thrill me at all. Just run out the string and let this nightmare be over. This team could F up a free meal.

I have only two positive things coming out after yesterday. One, the Jets were on point when they drafted Allen and Davis. These kids work and play hard. No matter what happens with Breece next season, having these two guys is a huge plus. Second, the Fashanu pick looks better and better every game, he really is something. I only saw one mistake where he missed a block on a 3rd and 1 play where the defensive lineman slipped past him to help stuff the run. The o-line will have a solid start with 4 good young linemen, with John Simpson being a revelation and maybe the best signing by JD. They will need to add some serious backups, as Warren and Mitchell are not up to snuff. I also have to give a huge shoutout to Morgan Moses, he is a real warrior. Who knows if he will be back or not.

It so freaking typical. Only the Jets can be 3-10 and slated to pick 7th in the upcoming draft.

I'm glad they lost, and I'm surprised they scored as many points as they did and almost won.

I'm not a Mets fan, so am disappointed that Soto signed with the Mets, but $750 million is insane. I'm glad that the Yankees didn't pay that much. Now hopefully, Cashman will turn his attention to spending the money they would have spent on Soto, on getting some top pitchers, 1st and 3rd Basemen, and an outfielder. I actually wish that Cashman and Boone had been fired. Steinbrenner is a pushing Woody to see who is the dumbest owner. Cashman and Boone should have been fired 2-3 years ago.

David, not a big deal but yesterday was Davis’s 2nd NFL TD. He took a shovel pass into the end zone last week. But it was his first rushing TD. As for Saleh’s departure being the reason the defense has declined I have to wonder about that because we have no way of knowing how involved with them on a daily basis. I’m sure he and Ulbrich spoke about the planning but I wonder how involved he actually was? This time of the season has been rough with this team. When the games actually start I can’t root against our guys. But after a loss I can’t recoup some emotional wellbeing with the knowledge we didn’t hurt our draft position.

You see Ron, at this time of the year the Jets actual game performances seem to evaporate from my memory within 7 days 😂 which is probably not a bad thing.

We don't know exactly, but as a defensive head coach and based on historical quotes from players and coaches I think Saleh was heavily involved in the game planning. The numbers are pretty start if you compare them pre and post Saleh firing, that can't be a coincidence.

I don't tend to root for losses either, just can't reason with that in my head. But if they lose, it doesn't ruin my evening either. In fact I largely just switch off and go and do something completely non-Jets related.

I was a big critic of Saleh, but it seems to me that he had a big impact on how the D played. That said, since the offense couldn't score 20 points when he was HC, and have already done that 6 times since he was fired, he also seems to be at fault for the offense not playing well. That suggests to me that he was having the offense play way too conservatively and was trying to win with D. IMO a HC like that is worthless. In the end, it doesn't matter how well he got the D to play, if the O can't score points under his leadership.

The STs also played well while he was HC. I don't know how to account for that. Did Saleh have impact there, or is it just coincidental? I don't know what's gone wrong this season with the STs. Saleh getting fired shouldn't cause the STs to turn to crap. Is it personnel? Did Brant Boyer lose his touch? Did Saleh have some kind of impact?

Sat thru 6 hours of losing yesterday. I recorded the Rangers game and watched that after the Jets loss. I am a dope. However that Soto news made up for it so that’s where I’m going today - finally may have a shot at a championship with the NY Mets !! (PS has to miss the kick at the end was the way the found to lose this week)
