What's the plan at QB?
Edition #800
☀️ Good morning ☕
Somehow it seems quite fitting that with the 800th edition of TJW today, we’re back to talking about the quarterback and the uncertainty surrounding the position.
We’ve tried the trade route, we’ve tried the draft route, we’ve tried the Hall of Fame route…but nothing has worked, at least not yet.
So what are the options for the Jets in 2025 when it comes to the QB position? That’s what we’re going to discuss today, let’s hope we’re still not discussing this when we hit 1000 editions of TJW.
🟢 Somehow there were three former Jets picking up Super Bowl rings on Sunday. Mekhi Becton decided to get serious about his career after the Jets lost patience with his inability to keep in shape and stay on the field. It turns out he’s a much better guard than tackle. The Jets tried to move Becton inside but he always seemed reluctant. Braden Mann was largely a bystander in the Super Bowl but he’ll get a ring. Bryce Huff was inactive on the night and struggled through a disappointing 2024 season, but he’ll also get himself a championship ring.
🟢 Chad Reuter of NFL.com brought out a three-round mock draft that I absolutely loved. He had the Jets taking Mason Graham at #7 overall and then trading back into the first round with the KC Chiefs to take Jaxson Dart 31st overall. He then has us taking Lathan Ransom, the safety from Ohio State in the 3rd. Just my personal opinion, but I’d say that’s an A+ draft on paper.
At the start of the off-season the big question (at least on the playing side) revolved around Aaron Rodgers. Now that we seem to have confirmation the Jets are moving on, the question becomes, what is our plan without Aaron Rodgers?
