Good morning ☕
Some inclement weather derailed the Jets and Panthers joint practice yesterday with the Jets instead staying at their base and running their own drills.
It’s a shame that the teams couldn’t go for round two, but these things happen. They’ll get to face each other on Saturday in the Jet’s 2nd pre-season game.
There’s only one topic on the minds of Jets fans right now, and that’s offensive tackle. So that’s what we’re talking about today.
First I just wanted to share my weekly column with the official Jets UK channel, it’s all about our boy Tony Adams. Appreciate any reads, shares and let me know what you think.
Let’s first of all get to a quick recap of yesterday’s practice session. With the pre-season game on Saturday, there won’t be another session until Tuesday.
Saleh hinted that Wilson would do individual drills but not team drills, but Wilson was back in for the team drills as well. Great to see the star wide receiver make a return.
Carl Lawson and Sauce Gardner both sat out, and it’ll be interesting to see if either plays on Saturday. Instinct would suggest not.
Aaron Rodgers stayed hot and completed an effortless pass on the move to Malik Taylor who continues to impress. The video of that one is below.
Billy Turner was back at left tackle and Max Mitchell was at right tackle. Becton still working with the 2nd unit, and Saleh confirmed he didn’t have a pitch count in mind for Becton on Saturday, which says to me it’s a play as long as you can kind of deal.
Another up and down day for Zach Wilson. He had a couple of nice touchdowns, one to Charles and an easier one to Gipson, he also forced a ball into double coverage, it fell incomplete but was lucky not to be picked according to reports.
