Good morning! ☀️
Six days later…and still no baby.👶
For now, we wait. ⌚
However, I did want to touch on a few Jets-related subjects this morning with Gang Green making another signing to bolster the wide receiver core yesterday, and yes, another ex-Packer.
Then they went out and got the run-stuffing DT we've all been calling for. The 53 is shaping up very nicely, we may just be a Kwon short.
🌟 Sauce Gardner was asked about whether there was added pressure with Aaron Rodgers in New York, to which he replied "There's no pressure. When it comes to playing in New York, you've just got to tell yourself, 'I'm built for this.'" which is probably the most NY answer you can possibly give.
🏀 Talking of Sauce, he was at the Knicks game with Aaron Rodgers on Tuesday night. Mekhi Becton was also there, but being the Miami Heat fan he is, he was relegated to the nosebleeds. The Knicks came out with an 111-105 winners to level the series 1-1, and you can keep up with the Knick’s run to the championship with my boy Jonathan Macri at Knicks Film School.
🙌 Garrett Wilson was asked about expectations for the season and he said: "We expect to compete with everyone in the league, beat everyone in the league, and be one of the better teams in the league" He also asked Aaron Rodgers why he didn’t get a ticket to the Knicks game, and the idea of playing with #8 still hasn’t sunk in "This is something 20-30 years from now, I'll tell my kid - I played with Aaron Rodgers"
⚾ The Mets have reportedly reached out to Aaron Rodgers about throwing out the first pitch at Citi Field. Considering the injuries we’ve suffered on the mound this year to future hall-of-fame players, I think I’d rather he politely decline that invitation.
💰 The numbers are in on Thomas Hennessy's four-year extension which is paying $5.97 million in total and includes $2.62 million in guarantees, the most for a long snapper, per Over The Cap.
💪 Alijah Vera-Tucker confirmed that he’s doing individual drills with the offensive lineman and he’s confident he’ll be back in team drills by training camp following triceps surgery. This is a huge boost for the Jets, chances are AVT will be playing next to Becton (“He looks great … slimming down is just going to make him more of a monster.”-AVT on Mekhi) who he’s barely played with, and next to Tippmann who he’s never played with.
