It really doesn’t make sense to go over everything again and sound like a broken record, so in trying to keep it short.

In the span of 5 minutes, Jet fans last night went to bed knowing that there team has no shot of ever playing in the Super Bowl.

If Hardeman’s td, didn’t tell us that this ownership has no clues or concerns about winning then Woody Johnson’s video announcing new uniforms cemented what he is really concerned about.

To me personally, we know Woody is clueless about running a franchise but his video that he was so proud to release was totally classless.

How about congratulating the Chiefs, they are in your conference, they are as you an original AFL franchise.

Hardeman’s td proved that Hackett, Saleh and JD are totally lost. Chiefs knew how to use him.

Woody is just interested in selling shirts, hats and jerseys. The man is not only clueless and classless but he is a total embarrassment.

It would be a real challenge for all Jet fans to boycott buying anything new, to show Woody that we don’t want new Aaron Rodgers jerseys but instead we want playoff and Super Bowl victories.

But unfortunately there are enough clueless fans who are just plain 🤡🤡🤡 who will jump at buying this garbage right away so they can take selfies of themselves then plaster the pics all over social media proclaiming I got mine, I was the first to buy, I’m a real Jet fan.

It’s gotten to the point that no matter who is the Jet GM or Jet HC. Whoever they draft, whoever they waste a free agent contract on, this team will never win under the current ownership.

Woody Johnson could care less about winning as long as he can sell new Jerseys every five years.

A Jets fan true lament.

As every team lives under the same salary cap, you would statistically expect a balance of success over decades. This is predicted on ownership selecting the best GM and coach possible and then sitting in the owner’s box on Sunday to watch the outcome. Alas, Woodrow is not capable of this. If his last name was Ford, we never would have the Model T or the Mustang!

Irs bad enough on most of yur posts but trashing young Jets fans is uncalled for ! They may never had a cool Jets logo tee shirt. Even ones myself had are long overused. I want a new one. Is Woody cluless absolutley, Ifs this coaching staff any good doesnt look like it. Trashing Jets fans crosses the line if you are any kind of jets fan ! I am now bouycotting reading anything else from you !! I'm done

He wasn't trashing young Jets or any other Jets fans. That's just your twisted reading of his comments. What Bobber said is fact. The only power fans have over their team is to boycott buying team memorabilia and boycotting going to games, and let the owner of the team feel the financial pinch/pain. Some people always put themselves and what they want over what's best for all. That's just real life. Bobber was bemoaning that fact. If all Jets fans would participate in a boycott, we could force Woody to make changes or maybe even sell the team if the boycott went on long enough and he started losing money and seeing the value of the franchise go down. Grow up.

Craig you grow up - in case you didnt read it - read it again. He trashed Jets fans. He trashs everything abouty the Jets. Of course becuase you are always looking to pick a issue with me you respond. Ive told you this before STOP with the personal attacks. Who the F do you think you are ? Ive said the same thing he said and this past year the only way to stop the madness is for everyone to stop going. That isnt reality and will never happen. However, i didnt trash Jets fans or make personal comments abbout the responses i got for writing that.

Your right I did trash SOME Jet fans who were prouder than peacocks to put up selfies of themselves wearing Rodgers Jerseys the minute UPS/ FEDEX dropped them off. Most of the selfies had quotes comparable to saying “ look at me”. I’m ready to go, too bad it was May.

Season ticket holders are stuck, if they truly want their tickets ( I had them 37 years) they can’t stop for one year then hope to get the same exact tickets the following years.

To buy these new uniforms/T shirts only empowers Woody and his totally incompetent ownership.

If you don’t like my views, just pass up my posts. That is your right, but my right allows me to post anything as long as it isn’t vulgar, disrespectful or threatening. I don’t agree with everything written here but I respect everybody’s right to post it.

I don't need to read it again. He didn't trash Jets fans. That's just your twisted interpretation of what he said.

Look i am over 70 years old - Ive been trashed for being a Jets fan my whole life. You never get used to it but you let it run off your skin. At least till they win and im sure in what year's have left that isnt happening. But for non jets fans like him and his negative writing and you to take personal shots of having "twisted" interpertations is unacceptable. I respect your opinons eve though i may not agree with them. If i am misunderstanding your langauge then say it and ill go away as being too sensitive. I already canceled my subscription.

Sorry Steve, we will have to agree to disagree. There are a LOT of younger "fans" who are only interested in what they can show on their social media posts and that's a fact. And commenting on that is not "trashing" them. And the fact that Woodhead is the worst owner in professional sports and a real clueless fool is just that, a fact. And if boycotting buying these new uniforms that he seems to treasure might jolt him enough to make him realize how much the fans detest the way he is running this circus, then so be it. I'm older than you and have been a fan since the first game at the Polo Grounds in 1960, but facts are facts and you cannot ignore them. I honestly feel that 2024 could be even worse than 2023 was and it all comes back to WoodHead's doorstep because of his poor ownership skills. No one wants to see you go.

no sorry needed - ok to disagre respectively. Thats aways been my personal rule. What gets lost in all this is the actual game of football. I am a rock musician historian. All the good music has been made and i was glad to live thru the 60's when it started (I have my Stones tickets for may at Metlife). Today the nonsense music that is made is awfull. Nothing i can do about it - young people love it. Are they 'clueless' ? No that is thier preference. Trashing young or old fans for wanting to buy the lastest shirt of jersey is just not something that really isnt anything worth talking abut. Is Woody a bad owner - sure he is. Bet there are 25 other fan bases saying the same about thier owner to. Who cares. He knows fans detest him and doesnt care. If fans just want to wear the "Jets Colors" without watching the Team play football - again who cares. If Mr Negativity Non Jets fan wants to discuss the merits of the upcoming draft, good plays from the past season, Salehs coaching, 2024 season, all teh while trashing Woody - that to me is would be great. Getting pissed off about scocial media and the Jets new uniforms (which i love) is not great. Nor am i interested in - Lets Talk Football not nonsense. I think 2024 is going to be a great year and we are winning the division and going to the playoffs ! As George Harrison said when he quit the Beatles for a few days "See you around The Cubs".

Thanks for saying Ron ! You are a good man and Jets fan. I have complimented Mr Negativity Non Jets fan as recently as last week - does he ever say "thanks' - no. The other non jets fan always pipes in with personal attacks. 80,000 of us sit for 10 home games a year. We all get aggravated with the results. We all make comments. They is some great commentary and mostly funny. We shrugg our shoulders and soldier on to the next game. No one get personal no one gets overtly negative.

Trade down if you can is my suggestion. He will still be there. Also, as I said the second Jets leaked they were trading Zach, they will get nothing for him. Insane strategy. So Jets.

I think there are probably a few teams out there who think they can fix whatever the Jets fucked up. That wouldn't surprise me, at all. Zach Wilson still has all of the physical tools and, from what we've been led to believe, he has a pretty good understanding of the offensive concepts. Whether he processes them quick enough isn't material since that part of the equation is based on repetition and comfort in the scheme....the more he does it, the quicker the processing will get. So there's definitely value there. A team isn't going to bring him in to start, but if they have an older starter who is entrenched, I can see a team with resources trade for him, sure.

Given ZW and his extremely poor performance over three years, I’m not sure the jets would receive any significant value in return. I would however be delighted to be proven wrong.

Btw, after Woody’s comments last week, I am ready to boycott Jets until he sells the team. They will never win with such pathetic leadership.

Kudos to Mecole Hardman! I couldn't be happier that he caught the winning TD last night and also had a long reception in the 1st half. The moronic Jets couldn't find a use for him.

Rodgers is a jerk. He doesn't give a shit about the Jets. Anyone with half a brain knows that would be a horrible move to make, even if the Jets could somehow make the deal work. Not only would it have the team cap-strapped for the forseeable future, but it would cost them early draft picks this year and probably in 2025, and they would wind up not being able to keep their own FAs and wouldn't even have the necessary early draft picks to try to replace them.

Hopefully, Marquand Manuel remains with the Jets. We certainly don't need to lose one of the good coaches we have.

Donovan Smith may want to come to the Jets, but hopefully, they are only considering bringing him in as a last resort if they can't sign anyone else. I don't care that he grew up a Jets fan. The important thing is how good he is or isn't, and he isn't very good any more. He probably wants to come to the Jets because he figures that they will give him a big contract where no one else will.

With regards to Frelund's mock draft and Fuaga, I just want the Jets to get it right. Between FA and the draft, they need to add at least 2 OTs. I just want them to get the right players who can be effective so the offense can get straightened out and play on at least an average NFL level. I'm tired of their being a joke and the laughingstock of the NFL.

I'm not sure Hardman having a couple of big plays (the chunk play and the touchdown) means much of anything. I don't think he beat out the guys he was supposed to beat out (namely, Gipson and Cobb....which is kind of frightening). The fact that he went back to the Chiefs and played passable football isn't anything to lose sleep about. He went back to an offense that he already knew after failing to learn the offense he was supposed to learn with the Jets.

This Chiefs team was carried to the finish line by an exemplar interior offensive line (which was kind of decimated by kickoff in this game), a once-great receiver running on fumes (Kelce), a couple of young playmakers (Rice and Pacheco....big ups to the Chiefs for successfully hitting on a couple of mid-round guys), a young up-and-coming defense, and a quarterback is already in the GOAT conversation. The receiver room was a dumpster fire (outside of Rashee Rice) that is regularly panned for being so dysfunctional. The fact that Hardman came in there and immediately started getting reps needs that context added. he already knew the offense, the guy who was supposed to take his reps turned out to (surprise-surprise) be a total basket case who couldn't learn the offense or stay on the field, and it isn't as if he lit the world on fire in his old role.

The Jets offense was historical mismanaged and dysfunctional, but Hardman not panning out wasn't a particularly compelling bit of evidence in support of that fact. The fact that he didn't learn the offense is partially on him and partially on what, I assume, was a muddled offensive installation. If Hackett was so detached from his staff like it was pointed out in those reports, I can't fathom the actual installation of this offense being well executed.

One more note.....I think Fuaga would be pretty cool to bring in. He seems like a pretty good run blocker, which is probably really important for this team moving forward. The note about his center of gravity reads to me like him having really good balance in his run blocking. I might be more inclined to gamble on Brock Bowers, however.

Expand full comment

I don’t see Bowers as much of a gamble. I’d like to see him a little heavier but he’s a top 3 talent in this draft. I think we will end up with one of the 3 top OT’s because the last thing JD wants to hear is “why didn’t you pick the tackle? Especially after last year’s head scratcher! 😂 I really like Fuega! If he’s there he’s a Jet. As for Hardman’s two plays, eh, the most surprising part of the deep ball was that he actually caught it. The Jets sent him deep all the time but never actually targeted him. They probably didn’t have time to throw deep or they saw him in practice enough to have little to no confidence in him. They schemed him open for the winning TD but even on that play he looked shaky catching that ball.😂. Pretty sure Patrick was pooping💩pickles until he clearly secured the ball.😂

now now Stevie Boy, 😂 take a deep breath. Let’s remember David’s newsletter is an open forum and like any other page that allows comments and discussions there will be differences of opinion. It’s not like anyone’s gonna change anyone else’s mind here.😂 It sounds like you might be a younger fan. And that’s great. I’m jealous. Being 71 and rapidly approaching 72 ( June) I can relate to Bobbers sense of urgency. But I understand your frustration with his negative outlook. Keep in mind as much disappointment as you may have had he’s been through it even longer and his patience has been eroded to a larger extent. It’s all good my friend, live and let live. 👍

i wish i was younger - wil be 72 in April - ive been at it just as long as anyone here. On top of still have season tickets 40 plus years), driving 2 and 1/2 hours each way for a home game, sitting in rain to watch 1000 "3 and outs' (all my choice). My furstration is second to none LOL. However - and maybe it is old age - its the Jets this is what we get. I love Football, I love watching it live so i continue to go. If 'we' all let ourslevs to continue to moan and groan and whine how bad it is - it just take sany resemblence of fun out of it. We al know its bad in the things we all bitch about . I am choosing in my old age to mellow about that - its just The Jets - we picked the wrong team to root for. Thanks Joe Namath.

I have to say annoucing that 1 second after the SuperBowl was bad. Is there no on in that organization to put guardrails on him. Then to listen to Hardeman himself say when asked " Don't remind me of October in NJ" was really bad. It just reminds all of us that keeping Hackett is such a bad decision any hope we have goes doen the toilet with that decision.

yeah, Hardman, what a piece of work. His failure here was not his fault. I have to wonder if maybe JD had some kind of illusions of him being some kind of Tyreek Hill like game breaker. As we all saw in his time here he’s not that guy. His a roll player. A gadget guy. Let him have his moment in the sun. Come March he will again be a free agent. I guarantee you 100% he won’t be on the Chiefs team next season.
