Its fuuny and unique that each season us Jet fans have something different to look forward to at the end of the seaosn. None of them involve the playoffs. This years edition is "Can Zack Wilson become Terry Bradshaw and show everyone he finally got it". we have 4 games to see - THEN we go back to our normally scheduled program "THE DRAFT !
Welcome back David, I sure missed TJW the last couple of days and of course all of the posts and comments by the subscribers. How can Hackett even admit the best offense of the season wasn’t in the game plan, what does that even mean? Was Zack calling audibles? AR was there did he tell Zack screw Hack play your game? I hope then we don’t go by the game plan again the run, run, pass from 3rd and long is no way to play.
@ Bobber I love the Don Corleone quote and I think the Jets staff owe the fans a favor and need to get us a win if they don’t then maybe they like Luca Brasi they should “Sleep with the fishes”
Welcome back David, from a rest full week of Xmas shopping with the family. In the words of Don Corleone “ a man who doesn’t spend time with his family, is not a man”
Over the years, the Jets have given their fans more things to be depressed about than joyful about.
The new weekly source of our depression is the Thursday Nate Hackett press conference.
As anticipation for the up coming game grows like a ballon being inflated, Coach straight pin, pricks our balloon of hope with his weekly
nonsensical talking points.
He admits that last week performance was not part of his game plan. The fact that the fan base has been screaming, pleading for play action, first down passes, less 3 wide, more double tight end with Ruckert involved. What occurrd 30 points. How the hierarchy of this team lets him even talk to the press is enough to make fans all say in unison, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
Said many times this week, Zach is on a 5 game mission to show he belongs in the NFL. A repeat of his Texan game both statistically and in results would be a big step in his journey.
What the Jets will do with him, at this point, probably only heaven knows.
One question for Saleh, if you had a 3-4 year veteran young starting quarterback coming off of a major injury, would you let him play scout team defense during his rehab. The probable answer would be no.
I guess Rodger’s actions show who is the GM/ HC here. His playing defense is definitely asinine and a risk definitely not worth taking.
listening to WFAN yesterday there was talk that leaping interception actually never happened. Speculation was Jet hierarchy is concerned about an internal leak and that this story was planted to net out the rat. I heard this in the Evan and Tiki show later on around 4:30. I have no knowledge on whether it’s legit. It makes more sense than have Rodgers playing scout team defense.
Burgess Owens played for the Jets during the black hole of 1973-1979 when the Jets were without a playoff appearance.
He was constantly leaking behind the scenes stories to either the Daily News or the Post. I think the papers referred to him as “ Deep Jet”
Ironically landed up on the Raiders won a Super Bowl against the Eagles 27-10. Then lost in a playoff game against the Jets 17-14, when Lance Mehl intercepted two passes in the last 5 minutes of the game
The other well known leaker was that fantastic GM Mr Coffee leaking daily information to a very unscrupulous writer by the name of Manish Mehta.
The fact Mehta approached JD’s son at a little league game shows what a low life he was.
There is always someone willing to leak information for their own selfish reasons
I saw that "rumor" also and I was shaking my head. This St. Rodgers debacle just keeps getting better and better (heavy sarcasm). Why do they let The Hacker keep talking to the press ????? He has no idea of what to say and when he does say something it is so ridiculous that no one, including household pets and domestic farm animals, pay absolutely no attention to him. He is a sheer disgrace and should have about 2 yards of Gorilla tape wrapped around his mouth.
Agreed. But an overnight report by Rap seems to suggest that he'll get the clearance he needs to come back next week but will only try it if we win today.
My first instinct is to wonder if it's better we lose today, hard to fathom against the Fins but if we lose, we get more time to evaluate Zach Wilson and we don't risk another injury to Rodgers that could impact the 2024 season
To even talk about him actually playing in this lost season is ludicrous beyond any normal sense of critical thinking and common sense. Him playing again this season means absolutely nothing, unless his ego is so large that he feels the necessity to show that he can do anything. Allowing him to play is something that would make the Jets ownership and coaching staff look even more ridiculous than they already do, and that would be a pretty spectacular feat given that they are already the worst ownership and coaching I have ever seen. They make Daniel Snyder look like a paragon of sports' team ownership qualities.
Glad to see you back David and I'm glad you had a great trip. Now it's back the 1JD merry-go-round/vaudeville show, lol. Send in the clowns, lol, oh I forgot, they are already there !
Agreed. Welcome back! It is odd that someone like you who makes a living covering football would schedule vacations during the season. One at the beginning (if I remember right) and one now. I love your insights and am glad your back.
Thanks Lowell. Appreciate that. As much as I'd love to earn a living covering the NFL and the Jets in particular, unfortunately this is just a side gig that I do for the passion of it. I make some of my living from covering Red Zone for DAZN, but most of my actual income comes from covering World Football for DAZN, mostly in Japan, Italy and Spain. Unfortunately those overlap with each other, the Japan season just finished, but will start up again before the Italian and Spanish seasons finish, so I largely plan vacations that work as well as possible with those and with the family.

The Jets have had their share of leakers.

There are idiotic "articles" all over Yahoo about this nonsense. Probably written by bots, lol.

Just hard to believe that your 100 million QB is catching int’s 3 months post Achilles tendon surgery!
Yeah, it's ridiculous. Sounds like someone's fever dream, lol.
Agree....Frankly he shouldn’t be playing for the rest of this season regardless of tomorrow’s results.
Agreed. But an overnight report by Rap seems to suggest that he'll get the clearance he needs to come back next week but will only try it if we win today.
