Good morning ☕

I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving yesterday and sure the leftovers will taste even better today.

I’ve grabbed a quick 5 minutes up here in Edinburgh to just post a quite newsletter ahead of the game this weekend.

We’re moving on to a see family today in a little town called Peebles which is around a 50 minute drive from Edinburgh, so forgive me for the short note today.

🟢 In terms of injuries, the Jets are in a pretty good place. Tyron Smith is the only player who’s set to miss out. With the season lost, it makes more sense to play Olu Fashanu anyway, so in a way that works out for the best. Breece Hall was back yesterday as a limited participant which means he’s trending towards playing.

⚫ Aaron Rodgers was saying that he still believes that there is a problem within the Jets with leaks. Which leads me to believe that some of the reports that surfaced recently had a lot of truth to them.

🟢Earlier this week Rodgers was very non-committal on whether he’d like to return in 2025 and then he was asked if he was worried that it would be going out on a sour note - "No. I mean, honestly, I'm not worried about that at all. I thinks the process of losing self-importance is dealing with the ups and downs and the in-betweens. I'm not attached to that at all. If this is it -- and it could be -- (I have) nothing but gratitude for this time, for my career, for the men and women I've been around during my 20 years."

⚫ When asked what changed between him saying he wanted to play and him not being sure, this is what Rodgers had to say: "If you look at what transpired in those two weeks, Joe got axed. Joe brought me in here. There's uncertainty with everybody on the staff, so I'm not naive to what the situation is. If a new GM comes in and they don't retain Brick, I have to fit in those plans. "Like I said on Pat's show, this is my first option. I'd love to play here if I end up deciding to play, but there's got to be the want for them to want to bring me back and for me to want to play. But 'I think so' was the truth and 'I'm not 100% sure' is also the truth today."

🟢 Rodgers also confirmed that while he’s always willing to offer advice, his focus remains on playing and not helping Woody pick the next GM/HC - "I'm always available if my opinion is wanted, but I'm going to focus on playing right now. If I get drawn in those conversations, fantastic. If I don't, it's fantastic, too." Which is music to my ears.

⚫ Many have speculated that Rodgers would be more willing to hang up the cleats considering there will be a new coaching staff in town next year - Here’s what he had to say about that "I would say I love Nate (Hackett), I love Todd (Downing). I love the staff, but them not being here would not be a deal breaker for me."

🟢 We received our first update since training camp on rookie QB Jordan Travis this week and it’s not overly positive. He has suffered "some setbacks" in his recovery from his serious leg injury and certainly won’t be making an appearance this season. Still a bit of a head-scratching pick that.

⚫ Last week we spoke about Daniel Jones and speculated that while he wouldn’t sign with the Jets this year, he could be an option in 2025. Well the former Giants QB has decided to take his talents to Minnesota to join San Darnold and the Vikings.

The Jets will host the first places Seattle Seahawks this season, who are currently 6-5. Although the season has been over for about a month now, the Jets can mathematically be eliminated from the playoffs this weekend with a loss. I do wonder what changes we’ll see once the playoffs are officially out of the question.
