Good morning! ☕
I love a throwback uniform. Especially when it’s a good one. The Jets delivered with their Sack Exchange-inspired white number.
How do you follow up a year like Sauce Gardner had last year? Considering the expectations, is it even possible?
As a fun exercise, I wanted to take a look at the follow-up season of some of the best rookie corner performances in NFL history.
🔥 I’m going to try and refrain from posting every photo released of the new throwbacks yesterday, instead, I’ll just opt for this one. The Jets will wear this 1980’s inspired throwback in two games this year, one against the Chiefs and one against the Bills.
🏈 When the Green & White wear their throwbacks, MetLife Stadium will also be updated with Legacy branding including the Jets Sack Exchange logo on the 50-yard line. There will also be Legacy-themed end zones, a throwback wall wrap and in-game entertainment that will take fans back to the era. On the sideline, players, coaches and staff will wear Legacy gear.
🗣️ Louis Riddick was appearing on ESPN’s Get Up yesterday and he had some words for the Jets: “Well, what did [The Jets] do this offseason,” said Riddick. “They went all in, got the four-time MVP. He brought in his offensive coordinator. He brought in a couple of his boys in [Allen] Lazard and [Randall] Cobb. They have firepower over the perimeter. They’ve got a shut-down-type calibre defence. Win the Super Bowl, or shut up – or be miserable,” declared Riddick. “It’s as simple as that. Win it or be miserable, those are your options. That’s what you got.”
🙌 There was a lot of talk that Corey Davis was in the firing line, but #84 is happy to be back: “All of that was out of my control,” Davis said, via the New York Post. “It was kind of a long offseason. There was a point where there was uncertainty. Obviously, with all the moves going on, it’s hard not to think that. It’s still a business, but I’m happy to be here. Happy they kept me.”
🚨 Adrian Amos spoke about his move to the Jets: "Throughout the offseason, it was just trying to find the best fit for me," Amos told reporters Sunday. "Going into Year 9, you want to find a place that I can thrive and continue my career. It's close to home since I'm from Baltimore and that's a quick drive up the road. Great defence, Aaron (Rodgers) here, I talked to him a few times about the place and came in here for a visit. The coaches seem great, the atmosphere seems great, and it just worked out that way."
