With the trade deadline in the rear-view mirror, we now know the pieces we’ll have to make this improbable run.
Is it enough? I’m not 100% sure. We have some outstanding individual talent, but do we have a team? We’ll find out on Sunday. 3-7 looks a lot more season-ending than 4-6 does.
Today’s newsletter is focused on the future. What can the Jets do to fix this leaky run defense next season. I’m not sure we can do much this year, although we have seen some slight improvement. We’re now 21st in the league allowing 132.6 rushing yards per game which is bad but it’s not awful.

I missed a couple of minor moves in yesterday’s newsletter so apologies for that.
Jets signed offensive lineman Zack Bailey to the practice squad. Since going undrafted in 2019 out of South Carolina, Bailey has bounced around the league starting in Tampa Bay and most recently being released by the Atlanta Falcons in August. Predominantly a left guard he did play right tackle for a year in college. Over his final two years in college he allowed 4 sacks and 20 pressures on 783 pass-blocking snaps. A big unit at 6’6 and 300lbs.
