Good Morning ☕

The good news is that we can officially say that training camp starts this month. July also happens to be my birthday month and the month of my wedding anniversary, so it’s a good month all around.

Geno Smith promised he’d organise some informal workouts and he stuck to his word. A video posted on his Instagram showed him connecting with former Jets receiver Robbie Anderson and current Jets TE Mason Taylor.

It’s unclear if other Jets players were in attendance but Taylor was the only current Jet to be tagged in the post.

In other news Brendan Sorsby has seemingly accepted the NFL’s decision to keep him out of the league in 2026. The NFL confirmed that he was clear to begin preparations for the 2027 NFL draft and insiders yesterday reported that Sorsby would not pursue any litigation to try and force his way in this season.

Sorsby will need to answer plenty of difficult questions ahead of next years draft, and he’s also entering a draft that is projected to be one of the strongest QB drafts in recent memory.

The Jets finished the 2025 season with 0 interceptions and finished 17th in terms of opponents passing yards/game. But only the Cowboys allowed more points per game (30.1) than the Jets last year (29.6), and considering Aaron Glenn is a defensive minded coach, that’s concerning.

Most of the issues came through an inability to play the run.
