Defensively, Stiggers should lead all defensive backs in reps for mini camp and training camp.

If he is as good as they have been saying, he could replace Reed next year, which would save the Jets a load of cash. Which in turn could be used on Carter.

Though not drafted, if the three UDFA linemen make the team, it might stop the yearly process of signing veteran free agent defensive linemen every year during the free agency period. Plus they would be cheaper

Offensively, it’s all about injuries. If Rodgers loses any extended time Corley’s number should suffer.

If Davis has a lot of carries that would indicate one of two things.

The Jets are going to have a lot of blowout wins or Hall and or Allen have suffered a significant injury.

Just based on past injury history of both starting tackles expect Fashanu to get a lot more reps than people are saying.

The lesser the reps he gets should signify the starters are having a healthy season.

Have the unpopular opinion that Davis initially could beat out Allen when the pads come on. Allen has looked extremely good, before pads, but may being only 20, could take time to adapt to this Offense, will be number 2 by mid season. Davis is a more complete back, will be a Special Team mainstay ( linebacker in High School). OTA’s are one thing Training Camp is another. Don’t bury Izzy. Tony Dews the Veteran RB Coach has several challenges. The development of rookies Allen & Davis, resurrecting Izzy’s career capturing and utilizing that 4.4 speed, and get Breece Hall to have an All Pro season. Very optimistic that Tony with his experience with Derrick Henry ( different kind of back) can guide Hall to a successful season.

Been a Jet fan since leather helmets and the Flying Wedge were in vogue.

At this point, I really don’t care who helps gets us to the promised land just as long as we get there.

I happen to be fond of leather!

I was thinking more about apparel!

Facemasks and chaps I assume, lololololol. I think you should leave it at that, lol. We can be a rather savage bunch at times. Just funnin' Mike.

You dog ! I was thinking the same thing, lol.

I would be stunned if Davis beat out Allen.

It would be stunning, Allen has looked good in shorts, shown some surprising pass catching abilities, and has demonstrated enough speed to Run that Wide Zone. But Davis has better vision, better hands, blocks a little better, very physical guy that has a shot. Allen who is only 20, may have difficulty picking up this Offense, but size and speed will dictate that he will eventually back up Hall. Watch Davis consistently rip off big runs in preseason because of his vision, that will make Tony Dews decision difficult.

Izzy better show something solid and productive in very short order or he will be on the outside looking in, unless the Jets don't carry a FB and go with 4 RB's. I think he has to show real improvement on pass-pro and show the ability to break tackles to remain in the mix. If not............you know !!! And frankly, the Jets would not be in a bad place if Hall, Allen and Davis are the three RB's.

Izzy has talent, he is 215 pounds, runs a 4.4 has been productive, he can do this. Veteran RB Coach Tony Dews, was brought in to unlock Izzy’s talent. Training Camp with pads is a new opportunity. There is an argument that the Jets keep only 3 RB’s with Izzy & Valladay on the Practice Squad, and 4 TE’s, with Ruckert of or Yeboah taking reps at FB. Lots of 13 personnel looks.

The more difficult the better. Drafting two quality RBs to fortify the spots behind Hall is fine by me!

It would be reasonable to assume that a productive season from Smith would be 11-12 games. His time will clearly need to be managed. Also Moses may miss some games. That said, Fashanu may get to play 5-8 games. Having him provides the OL with insurance. Even though he is a first round pick and I believe he has an excellent future, there may be some bumps and bruises along the way. Hopefully none of the bumps or bruises involve AR!

I don't any of us expect him to just jump in and look like he's been doing it for years at the pro-level. But if his seeming pass-pro talents are legit that would be a great thing to see.

I expect that as a rookie he should be league average or a bit better. Probably a bit better in pass protection. That should be a reasonable first year expectation.

Optimistic that the UNDFA’s , especially Watt, McGregor & Taylor, could make a contribution. They could all get a longer look if we get Reddick drama, hope not.

Can’t blame Reddick for wanting a new contract…but not showing up to OTAs after being traded, though they are optional, does not seem to be the best strategy! Based on his performance he certainly would be an extension candidate. However, the fly in the ointment is price. He will be more expensive than the 17 million to Huff that the Eagles paid. Much more expensive!

Good job on the rookies, David. We might have 1-2 UDFAs who wind up making the team. I think those two are Eric Watts and Brady Latham. Watts would have a chance because of how he's been playing in practice. Latham, mostly because of the lack of quality depth at IOL. Taylor or McGregor would have to really play lights out in TC and preseason to make the team, but it's possible. Right now it looks like a real possibility that Eric Watts could make the team. If he makes the team, he would have a shot at being part of the rotation at DE. If Latham does, he could wind up seeing action if the OL suffers a slew of injuries.

I would love to see Stiggers get some playing time on D this season. I don't want any of the starters to get hurt, but with his instincts and hands, I think he could be a real asset on pure passing downs, especially later in games when the Jets have the lead and the other team is having to pass a lot.

What a surprising steal Latham could be, moves well , could use an NFL Strength & Conditioning Program, maybe 10- 15 pounds of good weight ?

Since they didn’t draft IOL, all our chips are riding on Latham!
