Good morning. ☀️
Happy Easter if you celebrate. 🐰
The day I write about the Jets being quiet in free agency, they go and sign two players, although not the two players we’ve been talking about for the last few weeks.
We’re going to get into the signing of Tim Boyle early next week and what he brings to the team, and also what that means for Zach Wilson.
Today we’re going to prioritize defensive tackle, Quinton Jefferson. The Jets inked the veteran to a one-year deal yesterday to replace Sheldon Rankins, but have we got better or worse?

🧀 As mentioned above, the Jets also signed Tim Boyle as their 3rd or 2nd QB, we’ll get into that next week. Boyle has experience working with Nathaniel Hackett and backing up Aaron Rodgers having started his career in Green Bay back in 2018. He was with the Bears last year and the Lions the year before. For his career, he’s completed 62.3% of his passes for 3 touchdowns and 8 interceptions, with a passer rating of 54.5.
🚨 Tyreek Hill announced his intention to retire after the 2025 season, which is the final year of his current deal (well not technically, but if you look at the cap charges, it is). Hill will be just 31 years old at that point, but he expressed his desire to move into the business side of football. You’ll remember that the Jets tried to trade for Hill and as that failed they pivoted to Garrett Wilson in the draft. Not a bad outcome for us.
📺 According to Peter King, there is a chance the Jets have 10+ nationally televised games next season: "This year, I think they're going to go up to 10 or 11 national appearances. And that encompasses doubleheader games on CBS and Fox in the late Sunday afternoon window, that encompasses one or two Sunday night games, probably early in the season, and that encompasses a Monday night game, maybe two. And then obviously the [TNF] Amazon game”
🟠 CBS Sports also had a mock out this week that I missed, and that had the Jets taking Clemon’s Bryan Bresee - "Head coach Robert Saleh comes from San Francisco where there is a belief that there is no such thing as too much talent on the defensive line. They plug Bryan Bresee inside next to Quinnen Williams." - This was a 3-round mock, and it also had the Jets taking Trenton Simpson and Joe Tippmann.
"It is a great opportunity to showcase my skill set and to get back into a defense that has an attacking front. I think the sky is the limit with that group. I think we are about to take over the division. Then when you add in Aaron Rodgers and that type of offense with him leading it, you already know that that is a defensive dream." The Jets have beefed up their defensive line with the signing of former Seahawk Quinton Jefferson and boy did they need it.
