Good morning! ☕
We’re officially into draft month. Although the roster won’t be complete this month, by the time the Jets take Mr Irrelevent, we’ll have a good idea of how the roster will look come August. Right now the Jets don’t have a ton of holes to fill, but hitting on some prospects to take over from some of these guys on one-year deals is vital for the future success of this franchise. Joe D’s drafting has been extremely inconsistent and outside the first round, quite poor. There is the odd one like Michael Carter II, but with a lot of picks from rounds 4-7, the Jets need to start that pipeline.
Special Teams. Justin Hardee won’t return for the Jets after the Browns announced they’d agreed to terms on a deal with the Jets special teams captain. Hardee was one of the better-paid special teamers and was a consistent presence for the Jets, but with the cap crunch there had to be a sacrifice somewhere. Hardee was by far the best special teamer back in 2022, but Ashtyn Davis took that mantle in 2023 after Hardee was restricted to just 11 games.

A friend of mine suggested I take a look at Idaho wide receiver Hayden Hatten, a player I wasn’t overly familiar with.
The initial view was a big, strong possession receiver who lacked NFL speed. If you look at his athletic profile, that seems to suggest the same thing.
