It has been 4 days since the NY Jets gifted their fans their most complete victory since before the Crystal Ball descended on New Years Eve bringing in year 2000.

The fan base is sky high. The depressing season ending injury of 2023 has been eradicated by the surgical precision of Dr Rodgers and the onslaught of a defense trying to prove they are better than last year’s version.

To celebrate the complete annihilation of a division rival, we at the The Jet Way are introducing the first Jet post victory quiz, a collection of general knowledge and true and false questions about the Thursday night victory.

I’m sure we have heard every angle on Thursday so here is something different from a very satisfying victory.

1) The first question will be about our tireless leader who did an outstanding job of covering the game and having it ready at 5am New York time despite the five hour difference between NY and London.

At 5pm, Friday London time (noon NY time) was David out cold sleeping or

with his wife and children eating ice scream

or was David alone with his beautiful wife Katie having a romantic dinner with a bottle of bubbly celebrating the Jet victory. If you follow David on twitter, he mentioned the answer

which will be at the end.

2) Was Rodgers td pass to Garrett Wilson, the first time he ever threw a td pass to a first round pick wr, true or false

3)True or false, Do Bryce Huff and Where’sWaldo#7 have the same exact 2024 stats.

4) Three ex-Jet quarterbacks played yesterday, name them.

5) Conklin had 93 yds receiving. Was it his first time as a Jet over 90 yards, 2nd time or third time

6) Myles Garrett last season: averaged One sack every 37.3 snaps

Bryce Huff was getting sacks every 33.4 snaps.

Will McDonald after getting his first sack last year and including his sacks this year is averaging

A) 38.6

B) 33.1

C) 20.1

7)This is an eye opener: #Jets have 14 sacks, tied for their most through 3 games since team sacks were first tracked in 1963. The last time the Jets had 14 sacks through 3 games was

A) 1966

B) 1981

C). 1982

8) Two opinion questions, there is no wrong answer

A) Do the Jets keep Mosely on the bench, the D is quicker and faster with him on the sidelines

B) Does Where’sWaldo#7 ever wear a Jet uniform.

**********ANSWERS-BELOW******

1) David and his wife Katie were alone having a romantic dinner with bubbly celebrating , children were home

2). First td pass to a No. 1 pick

3)True, same exact stats, though some bloggers say Huff has one tackle

4) Geno, Darnold and Tim Boyle

5) First Time

6)C A sack every 20.1 pass rush attempt

7) 1966

included Philbin, Rochester, Jim Harris, Biggs, Baker, Grantham, Atkinson, Sample, Baird, Paulson and Abbruezze.

😂 Brilliant. Watched Murder on the Orient Express at the theatre as well on Friday, very cultured evening. Was nice to go into the weekend not having to worry about the Jets for once.

You gave us ANSWERS ! . You’re absolutely hilarious, but please be kind to Bryce Huff, the Philly fan base is brutal, he is not having an easy time. Tim Boyle is playing, how could that be ? Remember the days. How good is Darnold ? We are about to find out, Geno beat the Phins , thanks.

Moseley will be part of a rotation with reduced reps. Will the Jets continue to blitz ? Love Quincy & Chuck Clark on the blitz.

Waldo signs today or at the trading deadline around November 5th

Hell yea, I gave the answers. I’m running a first class operation here.

As I mentioned, after 4 days of absolutely total football ectasy, I just wanted to add something different.

Wrote it up watching Chiefs- Falcons last night.

The Chiefs very resilient last night, they always find a way.

Contrary to public opinion, Reid runs a very different type of training camp, very structured and very stressful. His teams always find a way to overcome in the fourth quarter and overtime.

I agree in part, Moseley will get some reduced snaps, but I think we'll see some 3 LB looks also with Sherwood also out there. I think they will blitz according to who they are playing. NE was kind of a special case with their o-line troubles. You couldn't get away with it against Minnesota and other teams. It will be a game-by-game situation. As far as RedDICK is concerned, I don't see him reporting at all. He's a dumbass, so don't be surprised by anything he does. And I don't think there will be any takers as far as a trade is concerned, he's way too toxic right now and everyone thinks he's an idiot, which he is.

Huff’s agent should have told him that the Philly crowd in the past has booed Santa Claus and the Pope

Any possibility of a Huff Where’sWaldo #7 exchange.

I’m sure if it was done the Eagles would make sure that the three they acquired will be changed to a two by playing Waldo every down.

Philly is just brutal, easy to underestimate. Philly has the same problem everyone else has, they don’t have the money for the contract for HR. Do the swap in a heartbeat, but The Eagles just can’t do it, they have void years on Huffs contract going out to 2030

One of the biggest complaints of the Saleh regime has been the Jets propensity to starting slow.

Now Saleh says that the team came out fast because the Pats played a long overtime last week.

Hey Saleh, if Thursday proved anything, it’s that you have enough weapons to start fast and heavy.

At your first ever news conference, you said “ the team will be all gas, no brake”, well prove it, every week.

Before yesterday it seemed that the Denver game would be relatively easy, not so fast here. They totally controlled the Buccaneers offense from the opening kickoff, Bucs only had 223 yds of offense. That team has some offensive talent but the Broncos controlled it.

It appears that the Broncs are using a small ball offense. A lot of short stuff, get the ball out quickly, avoid mistakes and sacks.

As far as the Viking game goes the only given will be that The Jet Way will have a live reporter there, our own David Wyatt-Hupton reporting wearing his number 3 Bobby Howfield jersey. Howfield being the only Englishman to ever play in the NFL.

Strange game yesterday, Texans had more time of possession, more total yards but also had more penalties, turnovers and couldn’t run the ball in a 34-7 loss.

I don’t think the Viking game will be an easy one..

David while at the game be careful the Vikings under Ragnor Lothbrok and Ivar the boneless tried to take over England centuries ago, maybe they will try again on this visit.

Offer them some Mead to calm them down.

Broncos & Vikings win big, with two good QB’s in Nix & Darnold, the defense will be tested. Olu has had a successful TC, and three weeks of NFL game week preparations to acclimate himself to the NFL. It’s go time. Concerned that Smith seems to be slowing down, seems to have lost a half step, 3 games in ten days could have had an adverse affect on him, the extra rest from the mini bye could help. Both Carter and Max Mitchell could be active against the Broncos. Could Olu keep the Job after 4 weeks and relegate Morgan to swing ? Quietly AVT & Simpson are getting better and better at Guard, Tippman no bad snaps, a thing of the past.

Rodgers spoke about Defenses trying to take away Wilson with heavy doses of Cover Two. Spreading the ball around is the antidote , Conklin is flourishing, and I remember early in the off season that Tyler wanted to work on YAC, not sure what he did, but he seems to be successful at getting YAC.

AVT no pressures in 40 attempts Thursday, only 1 for the season

As you mentioned, I think the 3 game stretch was a bigger impact for Smith than his performance as a whole. And when all is said, I'm ok with the oldest guy having the worse stats of the bunch. If our young guys can stick together for the long term, we can have some longevity.

Agreed with Mosely opinion. Id want him to be the 3rd LB but he'll probably start and then not play 100% of the snaps anymore. IF the Jets value results over titles/vets.

And one of the biggest takeaways in our last game is TOP. Keeping the ball on offense keeps our defense fresh and quick. Complimentary football at its best. First game in a while we had that.

Exactly right on what should and probably will happen with Moseley. Saleh being the players coach and stubborn will acquiesce and play Moseley….

What I like most is this team is starting to gel and has improved their play on both sides of the ball. Rogers comments about starting fast had more to do with tempo than play calls. I was very happy with the play calling and being aggressive on offense, I would guess that will continue, AR is shaking off the rust and taking command of the offense. I imagine AR will improve even more.

David, Thank you for pointing out how this group supported drafting a OT vs the TE. Bowers has been playing well. That was the expectation so it’s no surprise. But we already had our own Bowers in Conklin’s. Maybe he’s not quite as talented but he’s at least solid in every facet of his game. For the reasons that were discussed here adnauseam the OT had to be the pick.

Great news on Moses!

I didn't realize that Smith had given up that many pressures, but he was beaten pretty badly on both sacks. Hopefully, he was just tired from so many games in however many days it was. Hopefully the extra days rest will help!

Hi guys, enjoyed reading everyone's comments. I spent 6 hours powerwashing my deck yesterday. Still not quite finished, but it's cool and drizzling rain today, so hopefully can finish tomorrow. Am thankful for the break today as I am very tired, and my hands were cramping last night. Cheers!

Rain? What is that? We’ve had half an inch this month.

Expand full comment

Sorry to hear that!!! We've had a crazy spring and summer with regards to rain. We hardly had any rain in April, a ton of rain in May (rained almost every day for a week-and-a-half), little rain in June, rained for almost two solid weeks in July, hardly had any rain in August, already had a couple of big rains this month, in the last 3 days have had well over 3 inches of rain, and it's supposed to rain the rest of the week. I'd gladly send you some of ours if I could!

Wow I didn't know the stats on Tyron. 2 sacks and 6 pressures. That sounds awful to me. Why when asked about Tyron did Saleh say he did fine.

Expand full comment

Yeah those stats came as a bit of a surprise to me. I need to go back and watch it, but I didn't come away from that game thinking Smith had a poor game or at least a noticeably poor game. He didn't allow a single pressure against Tennessee, so maybe it was just one of those games, maybe the 3rd game in 11 days hit him a little. I'm not concerned.

It was so relaxing yesterday that i watched the first Rangers preseason game agaist the Bruins. Very entertaining game with the Rangers winnning !

I only have one thing to mention. Rodgers and Garrett have to be on the same page, period. Garrett is part of a team, and the goal of the team is to get as close as possible to getting to the playoffs and hopefully beyond. That comes above any personal stats. If Rodgers needs to use him a certain way, the Garrett should just do it. What Rodgers did in spreading the wealth is a winning formula, Garrett needs to realize that, because everyone benefits from the success. The goal is to win, not just pile up stats and be the star. There are plays that Mike Williams can make that Garrett can't, and vice versa. Allen Lazard's renaissance is coming at a very good time for the team. He's confident and making a lot of YAC, which is very valuable. The same goes for Conklin and Ruckert, who has also shown up well in both receiving blocking. There is no "I" in team.
