Good morning ☕
The Jets are giving us a little room to breathe after a frantic week of acquisitions. Jadeveon Clowney seems to be mulling over his options and it doesn’t look like we’ll get a decision this side of the weekend. So this is a little wrap-up newsletter to finish a key period of the off-season. Hopefully, we get another signing tonight and I have to bash together another Saturday edition after arriving in Scotland, which is where I’m heading today.
Javon Kinlaw knows what it takes to get to the playoffs, and he’s confident the Jets are on the right track. "I know what it's like in those [playoff] games, money-wise especially," Kinlaw said. "I know what it's like -- the physicality, the energy. I want to go back. This team has everything it needs to make a push to the playoffs."
As I mentioned yesterday the Jets sent assistant offensive line coach Ben Wilkersen to work out Christian Haynes of UConn, but according to Tony Pauline which I was able to verify, they also spent considerable time with Yale tackle Kiran Amegadjie, a name we’ve mentioned a couple of times over the last month.
As of writing this newsletter, the vast majority of Jets free agents remain unsigned. I'd still like to see a few of these guys return.
Defense: Carl Lawson, Al Woods, Ashtyn Davis, Jalyn Holmes, Ifeadi Odenigbo, Sam Eguavoen
Special teams: Justin Hardee
Offense: Mekhi Becton, Duane Brown, Randall Cobb, Connor McGovern, Billy Turner, Trevor Siemian.
The 33rd Team has a new mock Draft out and they had the Jets taking Brock Bowers
The Jets will also officially be meeting with Florida State QB Jordan Travis. He's got a visit planned for a few weeks time according to Logan B. Robinson of Moles Game day.
Tyron Smith met with the media and he had this to say about Aaron Rodgers - "I played against Aaron. I know what kind of quarterback he is and I know what he can do if you give him a little bit of time.”
What could the Jets get from moving down in the draft?
