Well, how good this morning is will depend on how the Rangers got on last night. I’m writing this post in advance so I can spend my morning catching up on Game 2. If the Rangers won I’ll be cheery in the chat, if they lost then I may be a bit quiet today!

Today I had a few topics I wanted to look at, so I’m going to do a quick hit piece instead of one longer focus. We’ll get right back into some prospect-focus pieces next week as we race toward the draft.

📳 DT Calais Campbell, who signed a free agent contract with the Falcons 24 hours before he was due to fly to New York to meet with the Jets revealed to NFL reporter Josina Anderson that Aaron Rodgers was actively recruiting him to join the Jets, texting ‘yo come on man, let’s go win a championship together’. Unfortunately, the sales pitch fell flat despite the Jets offering a deal that was almost identical to Atlanta's. One reason given related to the position he was set to play with Atlanta giving him the chance to play as a “true” edge.

✍️ Defensive end Bryce Huff officially signed his restricted free agent tender yesterday, and based on last years performance, he’s worth every single penny and more. If he puts a similar year up in 2023, the Jets will be looking to sign him to a contract extension sooner rather than later.

📢 Over the last month we've heard several rumors about the Aaron Rodgers situation, all of them benefitted the negotiating position of the Packers. Yesterday there was a rumor which benefitted the negotiating position of the Jets. According to what I saw, apparently, Aaron Rodgers communicated to his agent that he's willing to play for the Jets and the Jets only. Which means the Packers have three choices. Trade him to the Jets for the offer on the table, which is a decent offer and pay $40 mill in dead cap, or don't get anything and still pay $40 million. This is getting done in the next 7 days.
