Good morning ☕
First of all I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you guys for making TJW what it is and Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 to everyone who celebrates, and if you don't celebrate then Happy Holidays 🎉.
It's been an extremely frustrating season and being completely open, the numbers have reflected that here at TJW, it's been a tough team to watch and I completely understand that for a lot of people, reading and talking Jets is the last thing on their minds. It's often been difficult to write about it too ✍️…trust me.
But we still have around 2000 subscribers here, most days we get over 1500 reads and there is a diehard core of 300 who help keep this going, to everyone I say a thank you 🙌
Today I'm looking at the 2024 off-season and how I'd go about the draft based on the initial research I've done 📹 I tend to not do a mock until the Jets are eliminated…so here’s the first.
❗ Nathaniel Hackett didn't confirm that Zach Wilson will miss this weekend’s game, but it sure sounded as though the Jets will be playing Trevor Siemian. Hackett talked about missing Aaron Rodgers's endorsement of him due to getting Trevor ready to play.
🤕 Trevor playing appears very likely now as Zach Wilson missed his second straight day of practice. I was looking forward to seeing what he could do against the 32nd-ranked defence. JFM and Aaron Rodgers were also missing.
🥃 He was also asked if it was fair to judge him based on the results this year considering the system he built was designed for Rodgers: "In the end, my job is to win. My job is to put a good product out there. That's what I focus on. It doesn't matter who's playing for us... we try to do everything we can to get everybody to be successful ... That's the only thing we look at."
I’m using the PFF mock and we have a couple of compensatory picks added in here, and as you can see I’ve gone heavy on receivers. We don’t know what will happen with free agency, and I expect the Jets to go heavily offence in March to enable them to pick the best player available in April, but without that knowledge, I’ve gone with a heavy offensive mock, more designed to introduce some players, rather than a prediction of what will happen.
