Please address the advisability and VALUE of drafting 4th versus 9th or 12th, etc. The Jets would have ben slotted in the #4 spot with a loss to the Commanders. With the enhanced QB class coming out this year, Douglass could have been in fascinating position to deal that #4 to a QB-needy team for 3 draft picks. OR, pick 4th, which has been a lucky position for them going back to Marvin Powell, D'Brickashaw and, of course, Sauce. A loss on Sunday would have been devastating in some ways, but so helpful in finding and selecting multiple offensive linemen. Bob Lederer, Skokie, IL

sadly I took no joy in yet another meaningless Jet win. Once again we screwed the pooch. If we played any other team yesterday it was a loss!

Merry Xmas Big Guy, another meaningless win that could be franchise builder. Nothing like beating KC years ago in overtime last game of the year. Jets lose, they get Matt Ryan, instead they took an all time great bust Vern “ the Ghoul” Gholston.

So much for winning builds a winning attitude

Frankly, I was rooting for Washington to win and not just to guarantee a prime draft slot. The Jets did not deserve to win that game yesterday by no means at all. Both the offense and defense stunk it up and lack of discipline on the field was ghastly. I guess there will be a lot of interesting commentary tomorrow.

hello Bob - Merry Christmas!!!

Agree with you. I love that Joe Alt looks like Joe Thomas V2.0, but our needs are great. trading up with Arizona, currently at midrange 13-16th pick, gets us back into the 2nd round and also what I call a group 1-B OT (Latham, Morgan, etc) who all project as solid starters, potential pro bowl in development. That 2nd rounder can get us a very good WR, another IOL.

Plus we're gonna see JD make some moves in FA, another good lineman, receiver perhaps?

Anyways, enjoy XMas, you and family -

For your sake, and the sake of others here and the countless legions of suffering Jets fans, I hope that you're right, but I think that you're probably just a victim of wishful thinking and hoping for something that's not gonna happen. God knows that all Jets and NY sports fan deserve better than what the NY sports teams give them.

Merry Xmas and I totally agree.

I also don’t believe in this winning changes the culture nonsense because of constant roster turnover every season plus Gase won two meaningless games, Saleh following is 17-32 with the quarterback they decided to take after losing out on Lawrence.

I also work for a company that has manufacturing plants in both Evanston and Skokie

David, Merry Christmas to you and your family.

A Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of David’s followers.

Depending on where Jet fans feelings were about Saleh and JD, some received a bag of coal from Ebenezer Scrooge Johnson with his announcement yesterday.

Just like Bob Cratchit having no coal, Jet fans will have no John Alt. As the ghost of Needless Jet Victories Past showed up in the guise of Greg Zuerlein and kicked a game winning field goal.

Hopefully Ghost of Future Super Bowl victories Aaron Rodgers will work his magic next year and give us the elusive Goose of Champions.

Then Tiny Tim Hackett can say, God bless us, everyone.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and family.

Regarding the Jets, I care less about draft position. To me it really only matters if need to draft a QB. I want them to have a culture of winning, and to learn how to win and close out games. That only happens by actually winning games. A lot of this team is coming back next year. I want to experience winning and getting pissed knowing they should have won more.

Merry and Happy

John

It figures that the Jets would win and screw up the only thing that had any real importance at this point of the season...draft position. The Jets always do that, and then they always wind up missing out on the players that they needed to get them over the top. Even worse, the victory, plus any more that they have will likely wind up saving Saleh's job, which I think would be a huge mistake.

I don't want to hear any nonsense about draft position not mattering or that there are good players throughout the draft. Anyone that can't see how missing out on great prospects at key positions they need hurts the team, and think that they can get the same kind of player in a lower round is delusional. Yes, other teams are able to find great players in lower rounds, but the Jets almost never do. That's why I'm done with that joke of a team.

It's the same thing with every NY sports team. It's a joke. They all suck and make one stupid decision after another.

Merry Christmas everyone!

David,

Merry Christmas to you and your family.

As far as Jets are concerned, if this game didn’t prove to everyone that Saleh is a DC posing as a HC, nothing will. The way he shut O down in 2nd half after Siemian pick was malpractice. The only saving grace is that Aaron won’t put up with Saleh’s influence on O next year - until he gets hurt again. After that, just hit the rewind button. Somebody has to call Saleh out for who he is at some point - the worst HC in football relative to the offense. Btw, sign Zuerlein now!

David, would love to see your take at some point on upcoming Jet free agents.
