Drafting a fourth round tackle, your going to get a few warts. Max’s RAS scores were below average. RAS showed a Tackle that was small at 307, didn’t run well, and lacked overall explosion . What was curious, is that Douglass seems to draft players with high RAS scores especially in the later rounds, this year JD was drooling over OT Trevor Penning, one of the Top RAS Offensive Lineman.. However, good to see that Douglas is not married to RAS. Max was highly productive, showed exceptional versatility, good technique and leadership capabilities. Does Max need a year of a NFL Strength and Conditioning Program ? Absolutely . But a perfect candidate swing Tackle. Interesting for me, is that you don’t have to run like Tyreek Hill, to play Offensive Tackle in this Wide Zone Offensive scheme..Max needs a red shirt year, but he has some great upside.

Spot on JO. He definitely could do with a redshirt season where he can work on some fundamentals with John Benton, little on his footwork especially against speed rushers, that's the one negative that kept popping up on tape so it was good to see some improved footwork at the Senior Bowl after working with the coaches there. I think he has that perfect swing tackle potential, prefer him on the right side to the left side from what I saw and that's based on his slide and anticipation. Looking forward to seeing how he developed.

Ben Wilkerson, the new assistant Offensive Line Coach, could be key in Max’s development. Wilkerson , a former player, coached with the Giants for the last three years, replaced Jake Moreland. It’s very early but Douglas’s revamped Health & Performance Dept. seems to getting good results in Strength & Conditioning, in part by coordinating nutrition with Strength Training ( Zach)
