David, I posted this about the time you and your family were sick and was unaware that you weren't checking the chats then. Can u please read and reply. Thanks. Hi guys, I now live in the Philippines. For the last number of years, I have watched the Jets games as well as the Giants ( I root for both though the Jets are my team), on the NFL Game Pass Package. For most of the year we are 12 hours ahead of the US East coast. A great part of the subscription is being able to watch the game in 40 minutes, thereby avoiding all commercials. This has worked great until this season. The NFL for whatever reason transitioned over to DAZN this year. In the past, using the 1p games as an example, the games would be concluded in roughly 3 hours (4p US time, 4A Monday my time). It would then typically take a couple of hours for them to re-format the game into the 40 minute version. I wake up around 6A and I could usually watch it then. Now, for whatever reason, this isn't happening. Today , I planned on watching the 1p Giants game. It is now 845 Monday night here and the 40 minute version is still not up, roughly about 16 hours later. Does anybody have the NFL game pass package. David, knowing that you live in the UK , how do you watch the games? Do you watch them in their entirety including commercials ? I am really very unhappy with what's going on with this. I would like to directly contact the NFL as DAZN customer service has not been very helpful. Does anybody have a contact number to reach somebody at the NFL or email address if not the former. Much thanks.
Hi Phil. Yeah I use the NFL Gamepass package through DAZN and the 40 minute version is a lifesaver especially on second viewing. I tend to watch the games in their entirety, fast forwarding through the adverts if I'm on a delay. I think the timing is inconsistent, they tend to be up within 24 hours, but certainly not as quick as others. Disclaimer, I do actually work for DAZN on live fan event engagement, so not really in that department, but let me see if I can find an answer. I tend to look for the 40 minute wraps 24-48 hours after the game has finished to do some video cuts for the newsletter, by then they're always there. But they certainly used to be quicker with the NFL. Let me see what I can dig up.
David, thanks for ur reply on this. Since u do work for DAZN maybe u can help out with this. Todays game in 40 minutes actually came out quickly. This is probably because it was the only game. Normally, only about 1/3 to 1/2 of the games come out in the 40 minute version afew hours after they are completed. I think when the NFL ran this operation, they all came out a few hours after completion. I really like to watch the game without knowing the score and befor I was able to do it. Now it's really hit and miss. And what I do to try and mitigate this issue is turn off my notifications so i don't accidentally see the score. I also precluded from looking at some of my favorite sport sites because of this. When i was first exposed to the 40 minute version, I thought it was kind of weird. Now, I am so used to it and like it so much I don't want to go back. so anything you can do to help the situation wud be appreciated. i tried thru their customer support ( all email and texting) without much luck. I really niss the day when u cud speak directly to a live human :). And finally as I commented in today's post, these games have unfortunately become a masochistic experience. I really wudn't mind seeing Tim Boyle start a game. JD and s Salah are still trying to justify spending the 2nd pick on the draft on Wilson. a failure of this kind doesn't look too gud on their resumes.
There are games that define players and games that define coaches.
If Hackett comes out with his prevent offense tonight keeping the Jets from winning, then Saleh MUST change play callers. The game plan and plays called against the Giants was an abomination.
Zach has his faults but he was working with what Hackett was calling.
To go through the litany of Hackett’s weaknesses as a play caller is comparable to the little boy who cried wolf. Nobody in the Jet organization listens or if they do, they are walking on eggshells so not to offend Rodgers.
Consistently Empty back fields on 3rd and short, no play action, leaning on Cobb and Cook, the list goes on and on.
I would like to know who was calling plays during the Chiefs game, because he has quietly disappeared.
Pat Leahy, an all time, Jet. Missed one of the shortest field goals in Jet history on November 19th, 1978.
In the 1978 season, the Jet organization was embroiled in a quarterback controversy. Walt Michaels was pissed off that Matt Robinson didn’t tell him that he had injured his shoulder wrestling with another player in his hotel room.
He went out and played totally inefficient. The Jets lost a game they were favored in. Michaels benched him in favor of Todd.
Todd played so so, but a lot of fans were Robinson fans. Playing home against the 8-3 Pats, the 6-5 Jets needed the win. Todd played horribly, throwing 3 interceptions. The Jets were down 19-10 in the fourth quarter when Michaels put Robinson in. First drive right down the field, touchdown. Robinson’s next drive as time is expiring quickly, sets the Jets up for a 19 yard field goal with seconds on the clock.
Leahy missed it. Jets lose 19-17.
Ironically, you barely heard or read about it because back then the NFL had no problem scheduling the Jets and Giants at the same time, sometimes both with home games.
As Leahy was missing his kick, the most famous fumble in Giant history was happening at the Meadowlands.
The Piscarcik fumble, Herm Edwards picking up the fumble as time is expiring, galloping for a game winning touchdown. Final score, same as the Jets,19-17.
That fumble changed Giant history, positively. The fans and the media destroyed the team in print and on local news. No internet, no ESPN back then.
It set in motion the Giants becoming an NFL power.
Pat Leahy was spared the scorn of missing the chip shot. A kick that might have changed Jet history.
Pat was almost always automatic but not on that November afternoon.
Great preview David! You mention Mike Williams and Josh Palmer but Williams is out for the year and Palmer has been recently put on the IR. I know they have QJ who has been having a rough rookie season but starting to play a little better as late. How do you think these two injuries affects their offensive game plan? Do you think they try to run it more against our defense?
That's on me, completely missed the IR list and even when I was writing it I thought Mike was out but I stupidly only looked at the injury report, which won't include IR. That's my bad.
I think in that case you're going to get a lot of Keenan and plenty of Ekeler out the backfield. Imagine we'll have a plan for those dump offs and Herbert will almost certainly be spied and have some shallow zone coverage to protect against his ability to pick up yards with his legs.
No worries! You’re always on point and was just wondering how you’d think that changes the strategy. It’ll be interesting if they can shutdown Allen, if they’ll have to lean even more on the running game and dump offs.
David, just an excellent preview, the Chargers are a 3 point favorite. Recommend that article from the British guy on Special Teams, shout out , tp the long time , Long Snapper Thomas Hennessy.
Excellent job with the game preview, David. Let's hope the new things work and Hackett calls them a lot and is MUCH more aggressive in this game than he has been. I think this can be a breakout game for Zach if Hackett will pull his head out of his ass (or Saleh, if Saleh is the one who has ordered Hackett to keep things conservative and safe).
The Beatles have the number 1 single, The Jets are in 2nd place and the Rolling Stones have the number 3 Album - the world is normal again ! David - we lose Rogers 4 plays in now we lose Fox 10 games in - what are we doing wrong in our loives lol ?
Haha, I was thinking the same when the Fox news came through. I must have done some pretty terrible things in a previous life, it's the only explanation.

Robinson to Wesley Walker ?
In that game, a 56 yard td pass.
They might have beaten Denver 31-28 on a 85 yd td pass that same year
