☀️ Good Morning ☕
I love the next three months on the NFL calendar, it represents an opportunity for bad teams to get better, and we’ve been a bad team for a long time.
The coaching cycle tends to represent the start of the off-season and with one of the best defensive players in the NFL (Myles Garrett) requesting a trade yesterday, we’re truly off and running.
I’m still catching up on the Senior Bowl but over the course of the next week or two we’re going to start our draft prep in earnest. I’ll focus on a few of the top guys, but my interest largely sits with some of those potential hidden gems.
If you want to read a profile on Mason Graham there are a ton of those out there who provide much better information than I could. But who’s that defensive tackle in the 7th round or UDFA that could become the next Poona Ford or Teair Tart or Snacks Harrison? That’s where my focus is going to be.
Today however, we’re going to talk about our new Special Teams Coordinator.
🟢 ESPN’s Matt Miller released a two-round mock draft yesterday and he had the Jets taking offensive tackle Will Campbell in the first round and Texas QB Quinn Ewers in the second round - “It will be fascinating to watch Ewers' pre-draft process, and a strong combine could boost him into Round 1. The Jets need an heir apparent to Aaron Rodgers and might need that successor to start immediately. Three seasons as a starter at Texas would have Ewers ready for that task. He threw for 3,472 yards, 31 touchdowns and 12 interceptions this past season.”
