☀️ Good Morning ☕

What a first day of free agency, we had big signings, surprise signings and a huge trade that sent 5x Pro Bowler Laremy Tunsil to Washington, who are going all in for a Championship this season.

But we’re here to talk about the New York Jets, a team who made four moves yesterday. Signing QB1, CB2 and grabbing a new FS.

Let’s run through the moves in the quick throws and then we’ll delve a little deeper into each one.

* With how free agency works I need a little more time in the morning to put these together. So please forgive me if they arrive into your inbox a little later this week, especially as you guys are only now 4 hours behind instead of 5 😂

🟢 The Jets are signing QB Justin Fields to a two-year, $40 million deal that includes $30 million guaranteed.

🟢 The Jets are signing CB Brandon Stephens to a three-year, $36 million deal, including $23 million guaranteed.

🟢 The Jets are signing S Andre Cisco to a one-year deal worth $10 million.

🟢 The Jets have tendered S Tony Adams (RFA). It’s the right-of-first-refusal tender — $3.2 million for one year

🟢 Washington Commanders signed former Jets DT Javon Kinlaw to a 3-year deal worth $45 million with $30 million guaranteed.

🟢 Tampa Bay signed former Jets defensive end Haason Reddick to a 1-year deal worth $14 million with $12 million of that guaranteed.

🟢 The Miami Dolphins signed former Jets quarterback Zach Wilson to a 1-year deal worth $6 million guaranteed, with the deal potentially rising to $10 million.

🟢 The New England Patriots signed former Jets offensive tackle Morgan Moses to a three year $24 million deal.

🟢 The Detroit Lions signed former Jets cornerback DJ Reed to a three year deal worth $48 million deal with $32 million guaranteed.

🟢 The Seattle Seahawks signed former Jets QB Sam Darnold to a three year, $110.5 million deal which includes $55 million of guarantees.

I’m unashamedly a Justin Fields fan. I was a fan of his when he featured in QB1, when he played at Ohio and I wanted him over Zach Wilson back in 2021. So you’ll have to forgive me for my open jubilation at having him on this team. I don’t know if he’s going to be a success or not, but I do know that he’ll be significantly easier to root for than Aaron Rodgers and by all accounts he is a great competitor, teammate and human.
