Jets Wide Receiver Position
Edition #856
☀️ Good morning ☕
The baseball season is in full flow, the European football season is coming to an end (Norwich finished in the bottom half of the table closer to relegation than promotion and sacked their manager before the season has finished) and we’re about to enter a quieter period for the NFL. The voluntary workouts are met with very little fanfare and coverage and we’re still months away from camp starting.
That quiet period gives us time to reflect on how the Jets are looking heading into the 2025 season. Over the coming months I plan to do detailed breakdowns on every single player selected in the draft and all the UDFA’s too. In June we may go down to 3 sends per week as things start to dry up, but I’ll update you on that closer to the time. For now we have plenty to talk about.
🟢 None of the following players received a UFA tender designation from the Jets, so none of these guys will factor into the compensation calculations: Safety Chuck Clark, Linebacker Sam Equavoen, offensive lineman Jake Hanson, kicker Greg Joseph, corner Jalen Mills, corner Kendall Sheffield and receiver Malik Taylor
🟢 The Senior Bowl is one of my favourite events on the football calendar and not just because they’re always kind with credentials for videos etc. Yesterday they released the numbers following the NFL draft. 106 players selected participated in the Senior Bowl, 7 of them were first round picks, 50 were taken through the first three rounds and the Jets were one of 12 teams who took at least 4 players who participated. 106 of the 141 players who took part at the Senior Bowl ended up getting drafted which is 75% of the roster. amazing.
🟢 The Jets are set to receive two compensatory picks in the 2026 draft based on calculations. They should get a 4th round pick for Haason Reddick and they should get a 7th round pick for Tyler Conklin. These won’t officially be announced until next year, but based on who the Jets lost and who they signed, those are the extra picks that we can expect.
Heading into the off-season I looked at wide receiver as one of the weaker positions on the Jets roster. We’ve navigated free agency and the draft, so now seems like a good time to sit down and take a look at what we have.
