Saw Zach Tom as a more of a versatile lineman, with great potential to become the Jets next starting Center, but he will do well in Green Bay. Curious that the Jets didn’t address Center/Guard even in UNDFA’s ( a very unimpressive group, terrible ? Joe really? ). Good news for McGovern/Feeney. With the UNDFA’s , Jets will need to make about 6 cuts, could be interesting. Max Mitchell fan, third round value, nice fit , swing Tackle, limited upside but starting potential , Chuma replacement. Clemons has warts, but he was a team Captain, got respect from his peers, like the Nasty, reflects the importance of Edge in this Defense, good bye Zuniga. The best way to support a QB is to have a dominant running game, Breece Hall could be part that, very nice fit. Wilson needs to work on his play action mechanics. Would have picked Ruckert at 69, got him at 101, didn’t lose value on the JJ trade and the associated pick. Jets are going to run the ball, commitment to 21 & 22 personnel.

Agree with all of that. Tom is an ideal fit in Green Bay and wouldn't shock me to see him in a couple of pro bowls in the future. I really like what we did, Mitchell and Clemons have some nasty to them and we know JD likes that. It does seem as though the Jets are very happy with McGovern so I do wonder if an extension is coming down the path sometime soon. Zuniga is definitely looking likely for the chop, and our depth at defensive end is looking absolutely outstanding.

Tomorrow I'm going to look at the depth chart and the cut candidates to get to the off-season limit. Then will start deep dives on Tuesday.

Tom seems more of a versatile IOL whereas Mitchell more of an versatile OT. We clearly valued OT over IOL this year. Hope JD is right. Still would love to upgrade over McGovern and jettison Van Roten.

We now have 11 DE’s. Saleh is addicted to DE’s lol. I say we keep 5/6: Lawson, JFM, JJ, Huff, Clemons, Martin (or maybe Curry).

My dark horse UDFA is CJ brewer. We really need a run stopping DT. Scouting report says he’s hard to move in run game. DQ got the $ so he’s a lock. If a RB makes it, it gonna take an amazing camp. I’d bet North Texas RB. But really crowded room. Hall, Carter, Coleman, Johnson, Walters, Perine. So whoever makes it has to beat out Johnson for #4 and potential 3rd down back.

Hey buddy. How’s it going? We used to chat in Joe Caparosa’s blog!

"The world and the NFL were very different over 30 years ago, I’m not sure we’ll ever see an RB taken that high again."

I am not sure if you are specifically referring to the Jets when you mentioned this in the article, otherwise it happened in 2018 with Saquon Barkley going #2 overall.

Ironically, that led to us getting Sam Darnold, which has now turned into Breece Hall.
