As a season ticket holder you are held hostage by the NFL on scheduling any other events in the fall until May. Concerts, weddings, vacations ETC are all on hold till you get the dates.

As you say David then they make a big deal out of it. Even when you get the dates they still may move the games.

Look at the Bills fans the two biggest holidays, over here, they have home games, Thanksgiving and Christmas. On top of a cold weather city.

Maybe cause I’m old now I couldn’t care less when and what.

Can we all say today “it’s good to be a Jets fan” 😊

Since offense is usually a little slower to find a rhythm to begin the season, I would prefer to get those NFC teams out of the way early. At least we have a better chance to catch them before they get into a groove.

The NFL has never really cared about player safety, or why else would they continue to add more games on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday? It's hard enough to be ready to play every Sunday, and then they trot teams out on 3 days rest... No mid-week games is a best-case scenario for the Jets.

Spot on, Mike! Wednesday and Thursday (except Thanksgiving) games are just flat out stupid!

“Heartless SOB’s, well said. Understand that it’s all about the bucks, but the NFL is extreme and exploitative.

I wonder if Saleh took his “All Brakes No Gas” mantra with him to Tennessee. Seems the NFL always finds a way to make things a little tougher on the Jets to start the season, I think they enjoy promoting their misery and manipulating Woody to make rash decisions.

Woody falls for it all the time

These sports writers should really do their homework

Saleh was an excellent DC but a terrible HC.

Again he could change second time around.

The team was never ready to play, barely scored in the first quarter and a half.

Always got blown out after the bye week or when they a larger gap between games.

All Gas, No brakes yet he would punt from his opponent 40

One undeniable truth about the NFL, if you have a good, winning team, you will get national exposure.

Another undeniable truth is that the NFL schedule maker is a heartless SOB, who will schedule night games in December and early January in tropical destinations like Buffalo, KC, Chicago and the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field.

The health, safety and well being of players, coaches, fans, vendors et all is never taken into consideration. The possibility of 15 degree temperatures and minus windchills is never factored in. I’m sure team owners, league officials and Taylor Swift will attest to the inhuman conditions as they get out of their limos so they can walk to their heated luxury suites. They will sit in their luxury seats and watch 60,000 to 70,000 real team fans shivering for 3-4 hours. Every last one of them potential pneumonia or bronchitis victims. Especially the drunks who go bare chested.

As we now see, the NFL punishes failure, you stink, you get no exposure.

I understand David’s happiness, he will actually get at least 15 good nights of sleep with those 15 one o’clock games. He could probably watch “ Call the Midwife” in peace every Sunday night now or maybe Downton Abbey reruns.

Without a question of a doubt, media exposure fanatic Woody Johnson must have blown his stack when he saw that his team didn’t have at least even one national window game.

Aaron Glenn really doesn’t want Woody in an embarrassing mood before the season even starts.

Without a question of a doubt, Glenn can’t afford a loss to Saleh on opening day.

With that game being followed by games with the Pack, Bears and Lions, Glenn could break Saleh’s team record of getting fired after 5 games by getting fired after 4.

This tweet From Damien Woody says it all from the players perspective.

“Jets have the perfect schedule. All 1pm games except two at 4:05p. As a former player, sign me up for that every day of the week!!”

First of all like David I never understood the big schedule whoop? I could care less. I feel for you Stevie Baby, the joy of PSL season ticket ownership can wreak havoc on one’s social calendar. But that aside we all know it’s really about getting as much exposure as possible!

David, I couldn't possibly agree with you more with the way the NFL handles its schedule release. I definitely think they crave attention and they're trying to create drama and excitement and detract from the NBA and NHL. If fans and the media weren't so dumb as to buy in and go along, the NFL would stop this nonsense. All it would take to change it would be 2-3 major national media outlets ridiculing the NFL for doing this, and I think they'd stop.

What jumped out to me most about the schedule is how many games the Jets will be playing on Fox this year. That's the most I ever recall seeing. Of course, most of it is due to playing the NFC Central Conference (or whatever it's called), but they're also playing the Chargers and Raiders on Fox, which I don't understand at all. I thought CBS carried AFC games and Fox NFC games. So why are two AFC teams playing on Fox? It probably won't matter much to me. My local CBS affiliate never carries Jets games, and the local Fox affiliate carries the Panthers games, so unless the Panthers are playing a late game or a Monday or Thursday night game, there probably still won't be any televised Jets games in my area. It's been frustrating, but in a way, it's been a blessing that I haven't had to watch the Jets when they've been so bad. Maybe if they get their QB next year and start playing really well the local CBS affiliate will decide to show some of their games.

I was shocked that the Jets already cut Ferrin. I know he missed some kicks this past weekend, but come on, they signed him for a reason. So they're now going to just forget why they signed him in the first place? Was he fat and out of shape? Did he insult the STs Coach or Glenn? Park in Glenn's parking space? I hope that he doesn't go on to be a HOF kicker with another team. The Jets have been embarrassed enough with stuff like that!

IMO the Jets have the opportunity to win 3 games in October. How much fun would that be? They wouldn't be out of it by Halloween. David, I don't see how you think that the Jets can beat the Patriots unless Vrabel gets suspended by the NFL or Maye is out.

Craig. I get either the Falcons or Jacksonville. I use YouTube for my TV service so I also get NFL Sunday Ticket. That is my bad investment to watch Jets games. I will purchase it again this year, I am a glutton for punishment I guess. But I take each game as a one off and don’t worry too much about their record.
