Quincy is a good deal for both sides. Ulbrich a strong supporter of the young linebacker. Jets may not be active during the first week of Free Agency, when the big money flows, but the Jets May pick up a couple of Value FA’s in week two , where the Jets feel there is fit meets price.. I think the only restructure’s available are JFM & Mosley . The three big contract decisions are Lawson, Davis & Whitehead. Think that they are retaining Corey, cutting Lawson in week two of FA, after seeking a trade, and the Whitehead decision is delayed until summer. I’m

I have no idea what to comment on the situation any more. I will say the second the clock strikes noon go get Jimmy g.. I wouldnt even call that ahole to tell him they moving in a different direction. I'll say it again - the Jets made a valient effort to get him. However, if they dont pivot quickey and they end up with a 5th stringer - they look very small and bad. Myself i dont trust Douglas.

Think I'd absolutely agree there. I really hope that the Jets already have their answer and it's just the media who are in the dark. It's hard to get info out of the Jets and it's hard to get anything out of Rodgers.

Today is decision day. 12 let the drama build so he can let the world know what’s next.

Cuts: Corey Davis and Carl Lawson are gone if we trade for 12. Lazard is a big kid with good hands. I could see him and Cobb being on NYJ. We need a starting and backup DT and strong side LB. Would love to get K-9 back but might be too much 💴.

Big hole at C. We don’t even have a backup!

Fortunately for us, there are a fair few centers hitting the market. Ethan Pocic would be a good start to free agency IMO.

The market for Lazard could be in the 15-18 million range. Wide Receiver market is nuts. Not much out there. The cutting of Berrios opens up a spot for Cobb.

That's nuts. Corey Davis at 10MM sounds great.

Elijah sounds like a steal at 2/yr

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Elijah traded to Green Bay in the package for 12.

hope not! AR12 can unlock his talent

I still think the most sensible move would have been to sign Derek Carr when we had the chance. But since that ship has sailed, if the Jets don't actually have a commitment from Rodgers by noon today, they have to pivot to Jimmy G. There's no way they can remain in a holding pattern and wind up losing out on him too.

Agreed on all fronts. Stability at the QB position was the main reason I wanted Carr, we absolutely need to have a commitment otherwise that first call goes to Jimmy. Aaron loves a little drama, so I'm going to guess it all gets revealed, resolved and concluded at 11:55am.

Carr had good reasons to become a Saint, the money was very reasonable, would have been a great option for the Jets. One day we will find out the real story.

The NFC is also a much cleaner path in the playoffs; especially that division.

Two quotes of note

This from Peter King in his today’s column

I think the funniest thing I saw in recent days was Mike Florio’s report—true, I‘m sure—that Odell Beckham, after working out for teams in Arizona Friday, after averaging seven games played, 22 catches and 285 yards

over the past three years, views himself as a $20-million-a-year player. Riiiiight.

Gary Myers has tweeted a couple times the last couple days that we will know Rodgers intentions by noon today because that is when legal tampering starts because both teams need to know.

Based on Rodgers quirkiness, I hope the Jets have illegally contacted Garoppolo in some form. As you said, it could be disastrous if they miss out on all three.

Kirk Cousins ?????????

I understand that the impatience with Rogers is a fan thing, but his quirkiness becomes harmful, after noon today. Douglas will have a busy day today

Part of me wonders if the Jets already have an answer and they're just completing the details with Green Bay.

The best scenario is that they are haggling over the money on the back end. It is serious cash at 61 million. Hoping Rogers is not a knucklehead.

I mean it sounds as though if he wants to play football this year, he kind of has to agree with whatever the Jets and packers work out.

I think there is an element of letting the market set for OBJ, and then making a competitive offer, not jumping the gun and offering the world. I don't think he'll end up with the Jets, but if Rodgers comes then maybe just maybe, he heads here.

Kirk Cousins is not a bad option with everything considered.

If the Rams just gave away Ramsey, I think JD has a trade in place for Stafford to be our QB

Or Cousins.

Jimmy G is sooooooo much lower on our list. Is Jimmy so much better than Brisset? Looked solid in Cleve.

Jimmy was having an outstanding year this year and was actually #1 in passing under pressure in the league, that's huge, especially for a team with a lot of issues on the offensive line.

Personally, I think Jimmy is underrated, but at the same time I also think we won't need to worry about it, I'd be amazed if Rodgers isn't the Jets QB at this point.

signed with Raiders

he has such few throws down the field. Was that just the sf offense, or his lack of arm strength?

Jimmy G is very overpriced. Ramsey didn’t play well last year, 20 million CB, crushes your CAP

Expand full comment

He allowed more TD's than usual, but he also had 4 INT and 11 PD while hitting a career high in sacks and pressures. He's still a fine player and I've got to a point where I just don't believe the cap is real.
