When I first became aware of David’s writings and then the Jets Way, two things struck me.
One, David is an excellent writer who really knows the Jets.
Two, David is British and what the hell does an Englishman really know about American football, especially the Jets.
Surprisingly a lot.
While one should never assume, we have learned there are three loves in David’s life,
1. His family as they should be first.
2. Probably soccer especially his beloved Canaries, then
3. J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets
Unfortunately, American perceptions of the English basically are that they are prim and proper, sort of sticks in the mud, very serious, not prone to joking.
In the beginning, David would sometimes answer a comment in a very professional way, intelligently and seriously.
Over the course of time, he started to answer more comments.
His coming out party was when the Jets were obliterated on Monday night, September 9th, 2024, 32-19 San Francisco with a healthy Rodgers quarterbacking.
Because it was a Monday night game, add in the time difference between the U.S. and England, Tuesday mornings Jet way was very brief.
Jet fans reactions to this loss happening with a healthy Rodgers were off the charts.
On Wednesday, David commented 14 times to fan’s depressing comments , he became the Brigade’s refuge.
That is when, the Jets Way became different, special.
Contributors and David alike started to talk about personal things, families, vacations who we are, are pasts, especially our Jet experience pasts.
While at times there might be some disagreement on certain thoughts, they now had become respectful discourse.
Through it all, David has maintained his serious professional stance.
I think we American contributors have finally broken David seriousness.
With help from the World Cup, David has made some comments that are not prim and proper but definitely more American than British. He has definitely shown his sense of humor.

Ron Alexander: I tried watching the England / Paraguayan game because David’s such a fan ( and there was no Met game on at that time😂) and the only action until very late was the penalty kick😴 The pink uniform worn by the English goalie was a bit much for an old timer like me.
David: Haha what game were you watching Ron? England played Croatia, won 4-2, the pace of the game was fantastic and the keeper was wearing Orange. Did you tune into Ghana vs Panama by mistake? lol

David, My friend, knowing you are part Australian I hate to say this but Australia’s performance in the shootout was beyond atrocious.
I don’t know why they changed goalies right near the end but the mate they put in there was flopping on every kick.
Just based on watching that game, it doesn’t really matter because both Egypt and Australia looked mediocre at best playing each other. Egypt should be packing their bags in a few days.
Yeah I had a lot of issues with the whole penalty shootout strategy.
Matthew Ryan has a ton of experience, but he got that experience from playing. But Patrick Beach has had a great tournament, was having a good game and penalties favour the attacking side anyway. Plus…Matthew Ryan is 34, Beach is the future, so they wasted an opportunity to give him experience in that environment, big mistake in my mind.
On the penalty takers, having two CBs take kicks is bold when your striker (Norwich player) Mohammed Toure is not one of your five takers. CBs can be very good penalty takers because they strike it clean, but letting an 18-year-old CB take a kick over an experienced forward player is a crappy strategy IMO.
Hopefully Australia will learn from that going forward.
Egypt were poor I thought, Argentina shouldn’t have any issues getting through that, although they got a good scare against Cape Verde.

I googled who the most popular British comedians listed are, and I was shocked that Kay wasn't even on the list, and McIntyre is way down at #17 (which I can't imagine), but percentage-wise he's tied with #s 14-16. Since the early 1970's my mainstay of British comedy is a troupe as opposed to an individual. Monty Python delivered such great humor with that sarcastic edge, and the entire crew were a well-oiled machine. Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones and Michael Palin were just magic, whether in the series or the films. Rowan Atkinson is also a favorite, either as Mr. Bean or Blackadder. Cleese's Fawlty Towers and Lenny Henry's Chef ! were also favorites.
I’m old school, my favorite all time comedians are Laurel and Hardy translated into British comedian, Benny Hill. He was very visual comedian as Laurel and Hardy was.
Not only was Laurel was British, but he was a comedic genius.

I definitely think Andy Dalton or Will Levis should be brought in as a backup to Smith. I don't expect either to make their respective team's roster out of TC. Hopefully, one or both of them will make the decision to cut them early in TC, either as a favor to the QB so they have a chance to catch on with some other team, or so they can give more snaps to the young QBs on their rosters. A late round pick swap or even if they have to give up a 6th, I think it would be the wise move. They don't want to get caught with their pants down, should Geno wind up getting charged and having to serve some jail time, and they certainly shouldn't want to throw Klubnick to the wolves or roll with Zappe at QB.

Blackadder Goes Forth is still one of the greatest shows in history as far as I'm concerned. It's the epitome of British humour.

Cleese really tried something different playing Sheriff Langston in the western, Silverado.
He did a pretty good job as the heavy. He was to type in "A Fish Called Wanda", though. A thoroughly enjoyable film.

All things being equal - I do NOT think they want to carry 3 QBs on the 53(generally bad roster management).
They could decide or contemplate shelving Klubnik on season ending IR which would then open up space for a QB like Dalton
However at this point - their plan seems to be Klubnik #2 - and then 2 QBs - like Zappe & Cook for example - on the practice squad
