At this point The Jets need to win a game doesnt matter that its preseaon. For the most part eveyone knows what the roster is except maybe for a few position battles. Just go win a game for cyring out loud sheesh !
Steve, I'm not going to lose my sh.......stuff if they lose all 3 preseason games. How many times have we seen the Jets win all of their preseason games and suck it in the regular season ? I'm more interested in looking at the players and how they fit in and how they night perform in regular season action. Rule of thumb, don't tip the baby out with the bath water.
I hear what you're saying, Steve, and it's still the Jets, but this is a new regime with a lot of new players. You can't really look at it as "they've been looking at players for 15 years." That's just setting yourself up for frustration. It's better to re-set the clock with each new regime. In that way one can have more realistic expectations. While we know that it's been forever since they won and went to the playoffs, if we dwell on that it can make us too impatient, create unrealistic expectations that can't be met, then of course we get disappointed and frustrated.
The Jets didn't get into the mess they were in overnight, and Glenn was/is right, it's going to take time to turn things around. I'd rather things take a little longer, but do things the right way, don't take any short cuts or try to rush things along. IMO that's what happend when they trade for Rodgers. They tried to rush the rebuild, and it wound up creating an even bigger mess, and led to a regime change.
I'm with Mike on this. If it helps the players and the CS learn more quickly and get a more realistic idea of where they are, I'd rather they lose all 3 preseason games. Hopefully, it won't come to that. I'd love nothing more than to see the Jets beat the Steelers tonight and sack Allar 3-4 times with at least one being a strip sack, and intercept him 2-3 times.
Are you happy now Steve ????? lolololololol They pitched a shutout and there were no major faux pas to lose your stuff over. It's going to be a very tough cutdown day for sure. So many players did very well tonight, especially the two newest guys, Bergen and Lynn. Defensively, they didn't let up.
The harsh, depressing reality of going on a vacation/holiday is that they all come to an end.
Great vacations only lead to harsher, depressing realities.
Parents must go back to work, being the end of August, children back to school. Nobody is happy.
All in all though, the memories will always be there , bringing many smiles to their faces and happy words to their conversations and if that doesn’t work, the 5,741 pictures that everyone now takes will certainly do the job.
Amazingly, Geno went from probably not playing to starting.
If Klubnik tightens his grip as quarterback #2, he automatically becomes the biggest favorite among the fans.
For some obscure reason, in NFL cities where the starting quarterback is on shaky ground, the #2 quarterback is always the most popular player on the team among the fans.
Any fans who bought Chris Streveler, Bryce Petty or Kellen Clemen’s jerseys may now raise their hands to prove that point.
Presently this coming season, has a totally different look and feel than previous seasons.
You honestly can’t predict how many games this team will win this season.
The starting quarterback is basically a one year lease.
It’s possible the franchise quarterback is already on the team, only time will tell.
Due to the influx of free agent signings, trades and draft picks, this team is hardly recognizable compared to last years.
Probably half of the coaches who will be in Tennessee in a couple of weeks weren’t employed here last season.
Depending on your point of view, the HC is in a very precarious situation as far as job security is concerned.
Supposedly next season, this team is supposed to have a brazillion dollars of cap space and three first round picks in a draft that is considered one of the most talented player draft in NFL history. ( please remember never let facts get in the way of a good story)
David, just to prove that vacation is over. Once you get home, you must immediately go to the store and buy milk and the garbage goes out for Monday pick up Sunday night.
I love travelling, love seeing new places, giving the kids new experiences...but I'm also ready to be home. I have a cat at home who will be very excited to see us and I'm ready for my own sofa, my own bed and...a little peace and quiet from these lovely children 😂😂
I'm also a man of routine and I'll be walking through the door at 8pm and starting work immediately as my first event to manage is in Japan on Sunday morning, it's also been difficult writing this newsletter on my phone for two weeks, so I appreciate everyone beibg patient with the shorter ones.
Back to normality makes going away all the more special. Looking forward to planning the next one ..from the comfort of my own office lol
New Season, new team. Each years draft is about potential, but if Klubnick makes it as number two, your fourth round pick is your backup Quarterback, this could be a foundational draft, looks promising.
Remember when there was the wailing and gnashing of teeth when the Jets had the audacity to trade up 18 spots in the FOURTH round, to pick Klubnick, who was anointed as a sixth round value by some basement internet expert ?
JO, 😂 well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet. We really haven’t seen anything that says he’s anything but a QB we can develop as a Pat Ryan like career as a QB 2. That’s not to say he can’t do more but he’s thrown what 6 passes? 🤔 I think we enjoy the ride and see where it takes us. Just my opinion but at this point I’m still not sure moving up those 18 spots to pick him was necessary. Other rookie QB’s like Carson Beck and Drew Allar have looked even better as later round picks and Ty Simpson in L.A. a 1st round pick has gotten off to a good start. Fun thing we play the Steelers this evening. Allar/ Klubnik matchup 👍 Should be a fun watch!
I got to tell you guys; we should have been using the TJW on preseason game day as an ersatz open forum to follow the game together. It dawned on me just after Cisco picked off Will Howard that we could have been going back and forth and enjoying the game. Let's do that next week against the Jints. Whomever wants to join in, just go to the comments section. I think it would be fun.
David, I don't know if you saw my comment about the Brigade using the comments section on the day of a preseason game as an ad hoc in-game discussion forum, but I hope I didn't step on your toes about it. I wouldn't want to do anything that might seem "out-of-my-lane". Even though there's only one preseason game left, would it be okay for us to use the comments next week ? I wish I had thought of it sooner.
Absolutely Mike. I was planning to open up individual chat threads for each regular season game, but I'll definitely open one up for the third pre-season game 👍🏻

Ironically some HCs don’t believe in winning preseason games.
While Parcells thought they were important to build team momentum for the season.
At this point, two interceptions would bring celebratory joy to the Brigade’s faces.

Me neither but I will be pissed and disappointed - this team heeds to win a game - they been looking at players for 15 years

Well said and sgree but want that win lol

Very HAPPY hahahaha Win ! The 4th and 3 from the Tank Commander to seal it lol
WE GOT IT! The starters looked good, Klubnik was solid, and Cook looked good. Zappe should move to the #4 QB position or off the roster.
Malik McCain looks like a keeper both as a WR and in coverage on STs. Nate Lynn looks like a keeper at least on the PS if not the roster.
The run blocking wasn't very good, and run defense was mixed.
The Jets desperately need to upgrade their OL depth, but overall a good win.
Totally agree wow let’s best the Giants !

It shows what fans know or think they know.
If Clemson goes 13-1 last season and Klubnik’s senior year resembles his junior year, he’s probably a first round pick.
He didn’t change, the team around him did

Guilty
Jeff, draft time all fans are guilty

I’m in I checked to see if there were comments during the game. We can use the chat too.

Thanks David, we will all appreciate it.
Thanks, David!
I hope he'll open up a chat like he did last season for games and for the draft.
Done and Done, Squire Wyatt-Hupton has magnanimously agrees to our entreaty.
Oooops, agreed, lol
I'm pretty sure he will, as he reads the comments and trusts us to perform like adults. We just have to uphold that trust. It's just that simple.
