Couple of thimgs - Reddick - obviously this jerk may show up right before the season starts. So now we have a "bell" and "cook" situation where the jerk will be useless. There has not been one update anywhere about Williams - which means probaby hes not starting against the 49ers. Finally - The 'yips' Tipperman has can go no longer. Get him our of the center position and get someone else in there ASAP. It would be so Jets that they are going for the winning FG or TD on opening day and this guys hikes the ball 50 yards the wrong way......

His yips will get ironed out. This is probably stating the obious, but they aren't actually going to bring Nick Mangold to fix Tippman's snapping issues. Even if you could do that, it wouldn't make a ton of sense to do so. Mangold is a former player with no background on Tippman, no experience coaching, etc. They'll rely on their coaching staff to help Tippman fix his snaps. I wouldn't read much into it. It's pretty nearly a non-issue. Bringing in another center wouldn't make much sense, either. You want your best linemen starting and Tippman is pretty high up there among your best linemen. Adding a worse center into the equation because the current future of the position isn't realistic. I understand the inclination to worry, but this is the kind of thing (small technique and mental aspects of the position) that gets ironed out every single day of camp and every single day of the season. It'll work out fine.

You know this team - Famous last words right LOL - i'll gve it another week. They have to have a backup C.

Steve, dude, relax! You’re over the top on all these points. There is time to fix these issues. The Jets have no interest or intention of moving Tipp to any other spots.

LOL - The portion of the public preseason practices closes soon. Time is of the essense. If he cant hike a ball after 10 practices then he cant do it. Time to get someone else reps. (Riddick and Williams just wont be there opening night)

Only think I'll say is that he obviously played a ton in college and can't remember him having issues and I can't recall him having too many issues last year either. It's definitely a concern, we saw that when on 3rd and goal we lost 22 yards because of a bad snap, that can't happen int he regular season. But these yips came out of nowhere and usually they disappear out of nowhere as well. Think as the Jets see him as the longterm answer at OC, they need to do everything they can to fix it, but if after the 3rd pre-season game we've seen no improvements...well that's pretty damn concerning.

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer here, but last season, the Jets were content on Duane Brown showing up on opening day after surgery at 38 years of age.

Maybe it is a case of the yips but considering how fast last season unraveled, I really think this regime should be pro active. It’s not going to hurt to have Mangold hanging around, he is an all time Jet.

Based on all the questionable moves and non moves made last, JD and Saleh aren’t under a microscope, it’s more like the Palomer Telescope

I would go so far as to say that they should be using an electron microscope to look at them, it goes to sub-atomic levels, lololololol

perfect - i agree

I agree with you, but if he's still having the yips after the second pre-season game or continually in practice, they need to bring someone in. I'm pretty sure that McGovern can be had for the right price. I know he's slightly above mediocre, but he knows the system and I'd have more faith in him than Schweitzer at this point. In addition, having Smith, Moses, AVT and Simpson around him could give him a better shot at being a benefit and not a detriment.

As far as RedDICK is concerned, he's a nonentity at this point and shouldn't be counted on. And as far as Old McDonald is concerned, he's never going to be anything other than a designated pass rusher. When I watched a video of Jets practice, I saw him running with McGregor and I think JJ, he looked like a DB next to them. I don't care that he says he's stronger, he's still not going to be able to be very efficient just using his speed. The lack of at least some weight will really curtail the moves he will able to use.

Were he to have added 10-15 pounds, we would assume that it’s mainly muscle. As such we would expect that to translate into more strength and power and not likely be a detrimental with respect to his speed. To be effective Mac will have to be able to push people back at times. Being able to do so will enhance the effectiveness of his speed rush!

i would only wait till after Carolina

Any of you play golf? Ever have the yips with your putter? The more you think about it the worse it gets. This will go away, all he needs is to relax. He is still very new plus AR his cadence and actually his HOF status has Tipp nervous. I think this will disappear, maybe put him with 2nd team for a practice to take the pressure off, chewing his ass won’t fix the problem. He knows he has made the mistakes and everyone telling him only makes things worse.

agree but i dont play golf lol

Im just saying this cant wait till the Jets/Giants preseason game

I recall Tipperman having drafted a a ROG. I think with the injuries he started in that position, did well, and was later moved further left in Center. Let's keep that in mind.

He was drafted as a Center. He had a few snaps in college at OG and a few at OT. He was and IS a center.

If they are all in this year then need a alternative- can’t just wait for this guy

The only thing to keep in mind is he hikes the ball over the QBs head after 10 practices- time to get someone else ready just in case

Evidently with the injuries to Mike Williams and Gipson and the inexperience of Corley, wide receivers who are lower on the depth chart haven’t been able to grab the gold ring of opportunity.

Has Brownlee lost his traction from last years camp, is Charles just thought of as an excellent special teams player.

The wide receiver star of the Green and White practice was Hamze El-Zayat ?, is Malik Taylor just another Lambeau Leaper

These questions are being asked because of the Jets bringing Jarvis Landry in.

Landry didn’t not play at all in 2023 and only appeared in 9 games in 2022, starting 3.

Player you can compare him too, he would be Randall Cobb 2, while 2 years younger than Cobb at 31, Cobbs lifetime stats better.

Also, Landry was primarily a slot receiver during his career. How would that impact Garrett.

If they feel that they are lacking at wr, then why don’t the Jets just sign Hunter Renfro or better yet, were all the platitudes about Corey Davis lip service from both parties.

One of a Jet Way poster last week used the term “Pads will tell the tale”, I really wish I can remember his name to give him credit.

With the joint practice this week and subsequent game against the Washington whatever their name is, pads will tell the tale.

Since camp has opened, following the tweets of Jet beat writers, the two names that you see mentioned a lot have been Watt and McGregor, they both have been very active. Yes, we know it’s been against second stringers, draftees and UDFAs, but theyhave made their presence felt. Hopefully they will continue their odyssey to an NFL future starting this week.

Also a shout out to both Stiggers and Jarrick Bernard- Converse.

Brownlee is coming on in week 2/3 of camp. Lazard had a good week 1. Corley is gonna take time. Charles is just STS. Taylor is a sleeper but now hurt.

Was looking up when the Jets were playing this Saturday. Their game starts at noon.

I wonder if that was done on purpose so there would be a live game telecast around 5-6 pm in England and Germany.

Probably want to get David’s countrymen excited about Rodgers for their regular season game against the Vikings

Yips , yips and more yips. No reason that Tipp can’t master this fundamental football routine. However we should plan for the worst and hope for the best by making sure we have a competent backup!
