Good morning!☀️
It’s easy to forget that we have a game this weekend. With all the talk of General Managers, Head Coaches, 2025 Quarterbacks, you’d be forgiven for thinking that we’re at seasons end.
As you read this I’ll be somewhere on the A1 answering the question “Are we there yet?” for the hundredth time. Which will only be slightly more annoying than the question of how the Jets sort this mess out.
Last week I focused on Ray Agnew, who I believe should be the next GM. But he’s not the only candidate. Today we look at Ed Dodds who is the assistant GM of the Indianapolis Colts and another name who’s likely to be popular this off-season.
🟢It’s still unclear if C. J. Mosley will be fit to face the Seahawks this weekend. Sherwood has been excellent in his place, but the Jets defense has fallen off a cliff over the last 6 weeks and Mosley while sometimes slow on his feet, has always been an incredibly quick processor and defensive QB - "Not 100 percent yet," he told reporters. "Today is my first time putting on the helmet, so I don't want to go too fast. So like I said, it's been progressing each day, each week. So just kind of staying positive with that. And you know, today I did some more striking and did some line tackling. So that's really where we are right now. So until I actually hit somebody and can kind of feel the impact of just having, not have my neck like just torquing around, all those different things. Until then, I can't really give you 100 percent, but definitely going in the right direction."
⚫ Most have given up hope on the 2024 season, but not Morgan Moses: "You have an opportunity to play a child's game for king's ransom, and not a lot of people get the opportunity to go do that," Moses said. "So we're going to worry about what's in front of us. We have great veteran guys and a great veteran presence in the locker room that's going to control the variables of what we go through day in and day out. And that's the biggest part. When you have great people in the locker room that can bring the house together and move forward no matter what the circumstances are, it's going to gel. And so for us, we understand that."
🟢 PFF released their updated mock draft yesterday and they had the Jets taking Alabama QB Jalen Milroe with the 7th overall pick: “Reports over the weekend suggest that the Jets could move on from Aaron Rodgers at quarterback in 2025. Even if Rodgers remains, the team should strongly consider drafting one of the top three quarterbacks if available when they’re on the clock. Jalen Milroe offers a compelling option, having earned a career-high 81.6 PFF passing grade this season. He’s also a dynamic threat as a runner, as he has forced 24 missed tackles on 124 carries.”
It’s somewhat of a surprise that Ed Dodds has still not landed a GM job.
