The biggest and most important word on the depth chart is UNOFFICIAL.

By Saturday morning after two days of scrimmaging with Tampa and playing an exhibition game against them Friday, there could be changes in that depth chart.

Unfortunately injuries and performance or lack of performance will come into play.

One player who has been having an excellent camp but hardly getting mentioned is Jelani Woods.

If the Jets carry 4 tight ends, could Beck be jettisoned.

Do we actually know how Reich values the fullback position in his offense. The fact that Kene Nwangwu could assume the fullback role is another negative against Beck.

Supposedly Reich schemed his offense in a way to get Johnathon Taylor maximum opportunities both in the running and passing game. Barring injury, Breece could have a career year.

Surprisingly that Cisco, Moore and Belton are all listed as a starter along side Minkah.

According to press reports from practice sessions Belton has stood out the most. In fact Belton had the best season of his 4 year career last season 120 tackles, 3 forced fumbles, 2 sacks and 1 interception. It appears he has performed better every year.

Klubnik should be number 2, the Jets have film on Cook and Zappe.

They definitely want him to get as many snaps as possible.

His performance might be the determining factor if a veteran needs to be brought in.

Any over/ under on fights in these scrimmages with Tampa.

Great point David made about Q’s contract and Parsons.

Degenerate gamblers love the high of winning more than the money involved.

Jerrah Jones just loves to make the big deal, loves the spotlight shining on him. Whether it is ego driven or vodka driven doesn’t matter, could be a combination.

There were some comments on X that Q was overpaid, good for him.

Jerrah probably thinks he pulled fast ones on the Packers with Parsons and the Jets with Q.

Maybe Mougey should have waited for Jerrah to have his 5th vodka, maybe he could have gotten more than a 1st round, a 2nd round and Mazie Smith, who by the way is buried on the unofficial depth chart.

Kene Nwangu has been getting run as a fullback?

No, I don't think so. I don't know where Bobber got the idea that Nwangwu could be Beck's replacement at FB. There's no way he could handle that. He's not big enough, that's not his skill set, and he's injury prone. Speed and vision is his game, not power and blocking.

My mind must be going. Could have sworn they used him as a lead blocker in some game situations.

Like you stated, Ruckert could do the job.

Woods was always considered as a talented player unfortunately he has been injured most of his career. Out of a possible 68 games, has only played in 19

I don't think he did. I'd be shocked if he did.

Woods managed to stay healthy last season, just wasn't used. He's looking very healthy now. Hopefully, he stays that way. He would be unstoppable in the Red Zone.

Fascinating, Rocked up 210, FB could extend his career. Never saw him as a lead blocker, but could be a better lead blocker than Ruckert despite his size. Adds speed to the position.

I can't find any references to him playing anything but running back and returner (not even at Iowa State)

Bobberino, You're spot on about Woods having a great camp, and I think Woods will take Beck's place on the roster, but in no way, shape, or form could Nwangwu take Beck's place. Nwangwu is on the smaller/thinner side, and is more injury prone. We need him returning kicks. Ruckert would be the guy that would take Beck's place as the FB or maybe Allen.

IMO the fact that Cisco, Moore and Belton are all listed as a starter opposite Fitzpatrick just means that the Jets haven't decided who the starter will be. Belton was definitely the better player last year, and he has had a great camp. If he isn't starting the Glenn definitely needs to be fired.

There were 5-6 fights in practice today, I think all started by Bucs players. On one of them LT Luke Goedeke tore Stiggers helmet off and threw it 35 yards downfield. One or two of them Goedeke tried to pick a fight with Bailey. On another it was Membou and Ashawn Robinson.

I just got a notification that Quantez Stiggers was taken off the field by ambulance after an injury at the joint practice today. Definitely NOT what you want to hear. It said AG will have word on the injury later. Stiggers isn't even close to being a starter at CB but has been a valuable ST contributor. I hope it isn't something serious or career ending. It also said that David Bailey performed very well in one-on-one drills against Luke Goddeke, the Bucs RT. It also got chippy at one point and hands were flying, lol

I think it was dehydration or heat-related. They had run punt drills. Stiggers walked off the field took off his helmet, and passed out shortly after that. They were hooking him up to IVs in the ambulance, so that sound like dehydration to me unless that's just SOP when one gets an ambulance ride. There was not contact involved right before that. I guess it's possible, that he might have a slight concussion from when that jackass Luke Goedeke ripped Stiggers' helmet off. Goedeke should not be allowed to practice tomorrow or play on Friday night. Bowels did nothing to stop his players from starting fights. In the Membou/Ashawn fight, I think that even though Ashawn started it, Glenn pulled Membou off the field and replaced him.

I'll be glad if that's all it was. I hadn't heard that Goedeke ripped his helmet off. I hadn't heard about the Membou fight. The plain fact of the matter is that these fights will always be a byproduct of the joint practices, no matter what coaches say...........or don't say. It was smart of Glenn to pull Membou, it shows some sense of responsibility.

Craig Collins's avatar

Yes, hopefully Stiggers will be OK and it was just dehydration, and not a heat stroke.

I was proud of Glenn for showing some smarts and responsibility by taking Membou out. Bowles, on the other hand, was totally irresponsible and stupid. Goedert starts that crap tomorrow or in Friday night's game, I hope the Jets take his knees out.

Thanks for the depth chart David. I have a feeling it’s gonna look a little different come opening day.

I don't think Beck makes the final roster. I like him, he's versatile, and he's a good blocker, but Ruckert could handle that job, and there are other players that should be kept. IMO they shouldn't keep a FB.

I have a hard time with their having McDonald as a starter and not Bailey. If Bailey's not a starting Edge, then it has to be Ossai, not McDonald. I like McDonald, but he's just not that good vs the run, he's more of a situational pass rusher imo. Cisco had better not be a starter. He hasn't looked any better in TC than he did last season. Belton has been all over the field and making plays against both the run and the pass. Cisco shouldn't even make the team imo. IMO the plan either needs to be that Payne takes Cisco's place on the depth chart or the Jets sign a FA FS.

IMO it's interesting that Cooper is already the backup LG. Hopefully, Newman gets replaced/upgraded as the backup C. There's Hayes at the RG spot. Levao, Fornadel, and Young evidently aren't improving.

Jarius Monroe has had a good camp. It's a shame that he's slow. He could really help the team if he were faster.

In the practice with the Bucs today, Bailey was a terror of the Bucs' OL. He was beating their LT Luke Goedeke pretty much at will. Belton had a great practice, as did Cooper, Mitchell, and 1-2 others. The Bucs had more energy and fire, and started 5-6 fights/brawls.

Geno started out horrible, but got better as practice wore on. Stiggers passed out with no contact, and was taken to the hospital via ambulane. Hopefully it was just dehydration, got overhead. It was scary.
