Let’s start out with something outrageous. Joe Montana was a third round pick, could have a similar skill set to Klubnick. That could be what Frank Reich sees, and what an Old West Coast Offense Coordinator envisions for Cade. The current group of WR’s & TE’s with their YAC ability, could make this Bill Walsh Dream a reality.

I believe the Jets needed to take a swing this year at QB, and not just wait until 2027.

Not a big Klubnick fan, but the price of the other QB’s was unacceptable.

1. Simpson was 13th overall, a first round pick, no thanks.

2. Beck went 65 , a third round pick, don’t see it

3. Drew Allar 76 a third round pick, certainly looks the part, could have some upside. But I would have to trade down from 44 and lose Ponds, not a good decision.

4. Klubnick at 110 in the fourth round, has the highest floor of any remaining QB left in the draft. Has an outside chance to be the primary back up in 2027. Jets take a calculated shot.

This was a good podcast on the Jets draft. I like Leger Douzable. He thinks Bailey can do well with the run game.

The two pickups I would like to see them make are Will Levis and either Bobby Okeroke or Bobby Wagner. We need veteran depth in the LB group. Otherwise, I think we are pretty well set.

I agree, Phil, but think we also really need a C. It may have to wait until camp cuts, but it's hard for me to believe that there isn't someone better than Myers out there. Also, the Jets didn't address OT depth. I hope they look to add someone from among the camp cuts.

Phil, either of those LB's would be a good addition to the room. Having a veteran presence with a modicum of success (more than a modicum in the case of Wagner) can only help. I'm hoping against hope that Sherwood's great year wasn't a flash in the pan. He looked completely lost in 2025, embarrassingly so.

25 Children is significant, congratulations. Are Birthday Parties 5 hours ? With 3 hours cleanup ?

The whole Klubnik thing will only work itself out when he steps on the field in preseason, though he will have drills that he can show what he has. No reason to grade him at this point. And if Reich saw something that intrigues him about Klubnik, and Musgrave seems to be on board, there could be something we aren't seeing. I'm just going to let it ride.

Best news of the weekend, both your daughters overcame their illnesses to enjoy and celebrate their birthdays.

As it is always with children’s birthdays, I’m sure both parents were exhausted that nightfall just falling into their bed.

A few 2023 first round players were not offered their fifth year option.

Broderick Jones the player that Belichick made famous with the supposed trade that screwed the Jets on draft day has been a mediocre player at best then suffered a neck injury. His career is definitely pointing down.

Surprisingly Jack Campbell of the Lions was not offered his fifth year which came out to be $21.3 million. Lions want to resign but not at thot number. It might get interesting after next season, Jets?

Like the “Jelly of the Month Club”, the Vrable Russini situation keeps on giving new revelations.

The latest being that Russini tweeted “Before” the legal tampering period started that the Russini’s signed Morgan Moses to a huge free agent contract, realizing what she did, she eliminated the tweet.

Again the Mad Hugger who just loves to penalize teams and players was silent.

A few Russini players this weekend vowed their support for their “wholesome family man coach”.

One of the loudest and strongest defenders was quarterback Drake Mayer, who by the way was voted MVP, player of the year by Russini. You really can’t make this 💩 up.

ASSORTED TWEETS THIS WEEKEND

From Jet Blogger, Will Parkinson this question

Jets fans.... Which player on offense and defense are people not talking about enough, who will have a breakout season in 2026?

From Jet Blogger, Joe Caparoso this reply

Malachi Moore and while

"breakout" isn't right word for it, I think Parham will be a meaningful upgrade over Simpson.

Any opinions from the Brigade, wow that’s a rhetorical question I can’t think of any contributor here who ever offers an opinion

The last rookie jersey that I bought for the Jets was old Vern the Ghoul Gholston. Won't be making that mistake again

Bobber,

I agree regarding the "Russinis" and the mad hugger. It's blatant, and a disgrace and a joke, but then that's where we are in this country these days...no accountability whatsoever.

As for which players have a breakout season, I think Moore is probably as good a guess as anyone. If Cisco gets to play much, he could have a rebound season. Maybe with all the pieces on the DL, it could be Bailey, Ossai, or Sweat, or free from having to line everyone up and learning from Davis, maybe it's Sherwood.

On offense, I think it could be Mitchell or maybe Taylor or even Breece. It could be Parham playing with the same and better players consistently.

You left these UDFAs out of the WR room: Caullin Lacy and DT Sheffield

Sorry about leaving out the UDFA WRs but I cut and pasted that tweet( I’m lazy, lol)

Broken Record, Kraft must have a whopper hanging over Goddell’s head

Craig Collins's avatar

No need to apologize on my account, just thought you had forgotten them. I often forget stuff when I post. Things pop in my mind and distract me, or some aspect gets me going, and then I forget about other things I was going to post.

I agree on Goodell and Kraft. The other owners should be tired of all the favoritism that Kraft and the Patsies are shown, and should get rid of Goodell.

Mike Z's avatar

Maybe the mad Hugger got out of the massage parlor just before the brouhaha ensued and Kraft is hanging the Sword of Damocles over his head. Maybe Goodell left a bigger tip, who knows ?

Mike Z's avatar

I'd like to see them make a serious play for Campbell; he would definitely be worth it. He's done nothing but produce good results. He's also the one that should have been drafted in the 1st round instead of Old McDonald. Then they go and waste $14.8 million on his fifth-year option.

Craig Collins's avatar

Hopefully, the 5th year option won't be wasted on WMD and he'll either produce sacks and pressures more consistently rather than in spurts and be better vs the run not having to take on OL, or will at least be good enough that when a expected playoff team has a starting pass rusher go down with an injury for the rest of the season the Jets can trade him before the trade deadline for another 1st round pick in 2027 or at least a 2nd.
