Unfortunately, aside from, Cimini Schefter and Mortensen, I ignore most of ESPN’s writers/ reporters who cover the NFL.

Is Bridgewater an improvement over Zach could be but his injury record is as bad as Becton’s. On games he has started he is 33-32, most td passes in a season 18. Better than Zach probably but not exactly striking fear into the opposition’s DCs.

As far as adding another edge, barring any major injury, the Jets should be more than okay.

It appears that some writers are like fans, they have a fantasy football mentality. Who does Ngakoue replace on the roster of, whose spot does he take. And of course, one thing these fantasy thinking people never take into consideration, salary cap implications.

Again an upgrade at linebacker ( Alexander) and safety would be a bigger help.

As far as subject matter, since Mr Fair Catch is no longer on the roster, a piece on probable return options.

Also are the Jets ok having only one PK and punter in camp due to their age. I would have loved if they signed the San Diego punter now that he has been cleared.

The Yannick thing was literally worthless. I can't imagine where these "hot tips" come from. But it's the slow time and these "savants", lol, have to write something to get paid.

The backup QB situation is a concern. I have little to no faith in ZW. He really hasn’t given us any reason to think he’s the answer. Teddy B at this point would be a better option that Boylewho has never had any shinning moments that suggest he’s capable. As for Sauce Gardner getting anywhere near 8 picks would be amazing. Of course It would also require us to play against a bunch of very stupid offensive coordinators for allowing their QB’s to throw at him.😂 I saw the Yannick to the Jets article and was once again amazed by how little work some of these writers put into their work? The Jets are already 5, maybe 6 deep on the edge if Bradly Anea or the kid they signed from Pitt are any good. Yannick is also useless against the run so that whole idea was just silly.

You are right about the Yannick thing, there is absolutely no reason to get him involved. A LOT of "stories" from SI are just bunk. And I have learned to ignore anything predicted or noted on Heavy.com, it has the worst stuff imaginable. Sometimes I take a look on GGN's Flight Connections, but only for a laugh.

I actually find a lot of good stuff for my group on GGN. THE Jets X-Factor articles usually appear there as does some of Costello of the Post and Cimini. But most importantly David’s articles also appear there as well. But you’re right. There’s a lot of Heavy garbage there plus stuff from the Jet Press and even the NY Jets.com page. I find them tough to take. Kind of “ Kool Aide Brigade” of Jets news. Literally too positive! I prefer honest to wishful thinking. 😂

I kind of figured that also. Don't get me wrong, I've been following GGN for years and I'm generally quite satisfied with what's in there, but Heavy and Jet Press have the are the weakest links there. Also, some of the commenting is really wild. I only comment sporadically now. I always read David even before The Jet Way started up. And John B can be pretty decent most of the time. I do like some of the breakdowns with film clips, usually a pretty good job.

Ron, It would be a shock to see Sauce get 8 interceptions, but I think he has that kind of abliity. With the Jets potentially having more leads late in games this season, opposing offenses will have to throw the ball more , so it won't necessarily be a matter of stupid OCs, but rather a result of being behind on the scoreboard. As David pointed out so well, Reed is almost as good as Sauce, and opposing teams will have to throw the ball somewhere.

I totally agree, David, that the last thing the Jets need is another pass rusher. As you said, they won't have enough snaps now to go around. Huff, Clemons, and Johnson all deserve a lot more snaps, McDonald deserves to get a big chunk of reps, and JFM and Lawson don't deserve to have theirs cut dramatically. The other issue is that Ngakoue has played with 5 different teams over the last 5 seasons. He's still been cranking out the sacks, having gotten 19.5 over the last two seasons, and we know how important pass rushers are, yet teams aren't retaining him. I have to wonder why. It seems to me that he must be wearing his welcome out or asking for crazy money in FA.

I know Barnwell's name, but don't think I've read/seen that much of his "analysis." If this is a typical example of the calibre of his work, however, I don't want to see any more. He must be brain dead or really hate the Jets.

How interesting that Kaye tried to get Parcells to draft Tom Brady. Of course, the Tuna would never have drafted 2 QBs in one draft, so that would have meant we wouldn't have drafted Chad. I doubt that Brady would ever have developed with the clowns we've had as HC and OC since Parcells left until JD and Saleh arrived, and even then, we got MLF, who may have ruined Zach. If Brady had developed however....

I like your bold predictions! I hope that they all come true!

Nice. Loving the vibes this off-season. Only one I'd disagree on is the 1st ranked defence. Think the pieces are all there on the D-Line and at CB, but they're still too weak at safety, and coverage LB is also a weakness. Think we'll still struggle to get off the field on 3rd and medium/short situations because of it and that'll hurt their overall ranking.

Roster isn't finished yet. Plenty of juicy training camp cuts we can sign.

Good analysis ! - Myself i would like Teddy as backup to Rogers - meaning somone has to go and that could be the 2 not named Wilson. When we have a team that a lt of people think can get to the Bowl why rick not having a backup QB - which they dont now. We all remember Vinnie.....
